Kylie Jenner Skipped the VMAs to Watch From the Comfort of Her Own Home and TBH, We Totally Get It
If we’re being honest, we love spotting celebrity couples at awards shows almost as much as we love awards shows themselves, which is why we were hoping to catch a glimpse of one of our faves — Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott — at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards on Monday, August 26. Unfortunately for us, the pair skipped out on the star-studded event.
That said, the KUWTK star, 21, was totally still tuning in from home. In fact, she took to her Instagram Story during the show to shout-out Spanish musical artist Rosalía. “Wow,” she captioned a video of the songstress’ breathtaking performance.
As much as we would have loved to see Kylie and her baby daddy at the VMAs, we definitely understand why they bailed. For starters, they were held in Newark, New Jersey. Not exactly an easy trip for the couple, who live in Hidden Hills, California, and just returned from Kylie’s birthday trip to Europe.
Plus, the makeup mogul has literally been in full glam for a month now. Maybe she just wanted a night off to chill at home in her (designer) sweatpants and eat (organic) snacks.
Still, we always look forward to the possibility of seeing a little PDA from Kylie and Travis. When they stepped out at the Met Gala in May, they damn-near blew us away with their edgy looks and cuddly poses. Before that, they slayed at the 2019 Grammy Awards in February, taking to the red carpet mere minutes before the show started.
Despite the fact that they’re relatively private with their relationship, they sure do love to get cozy on the carpet! Of course, the couple also appeared at the VMAs together in 2018 — their first time going to the event together.
Fans were crushed to see that they walked the red carpet separately, but luckily, they sat together and took some cute pics inside. Kylie was there to support her baby daddy’s first solo performance at the VMAs, and she couldn’t have looked prouder. Here’s to many more in the future, if we’re lucky!
