Heating up? Former Bachelorette star Tyler Cameron and Gigi Hadid didn’t make their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards on Monday, August 26, but they did hit up the afterparty together.

“Gigi brought him over to Taylor Swift’s section and they chatted,” a source told Us Weekly about the model and reality stud. “Tyler and Gigi were dancing all night. He had his arms wrapped around her and was kissing the back of her neck. They were inseparable.”

Tyler definitely met a slew of Gigi’s A-list friends, including Queer Eye stars Jonathan Van Ness and Antoni Porowski. The source noted that the group spoke “for a while” and gushed that “[Tyler] really seemed to fit in with her friend group.”

Fans first started speculating that Tyler, 26, would not only be attending the VMAs, but he would be at the awards show as Gigi’s date after a very telling clue in the seating chart obtained by Us Weekly. There was an empty chair next to the 24-year-old model, according to the outlet. The chart debunked any rumors that the empty seat could be for Gigi’s sister, Bella Hadid, because the 22-year-old model had her very own seat next to that empty space. Unfortunately for Bella, it seems like she was set up to be the third wheel very early on in the event planning.

This marks Gigi and Tyler’s first official public appearance as a couple ever since they first started dating earlier this month. They were first spotted on a date together on August 4, in NYC and an eyewitness exclusively revealed details about their night out. “Gigi and Tyler are in Dumbo right now,” the insider confirmed to Life & Style at the time. “I saw them at reception going up to Soho House. They were laughing and it seems like they were having a good time.” The source also noted, “It’s Gigi Hadid. Of course, Tyler was into it.”

But Bachelor Nation was shocked because just a few days prior to his date with Gigi, Tyler made an appearance on the After the Final Rose on July 30 with his former flame, Bachelorette alum Hannah Brown. Tyler was a runner up on Hannah’s season, but it seemed like she still wanted to give their romance another shot because she asked him out for a drink on national TV.

After Gigi and Tyler went public with their fling, Hannah reacted to the news in a short yet perfect statement to Us Weekly. “I’m not going to talk about Tyler or any of that stuff. Thank you, next,” the 24-year-old said.
