Wes Bergmann Clarifies Comments About Neighbor Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Relationship Timeline
MTV star Wes Bergmann clarified his comments about his neighbor Travis Kelce’s relationship timeline with girlfriend Taylor Swift.
After Wes, 41, made headlines for claiming that Taylor, 35, and Travis, 35, had been dating for several months before they confirmed their romance in September 2023, fans quickly grew skeptical when they noticed that the Kansas City Chiefs star didn’t purchase a home in the same neighborhood as Wes until October 2023.
“Omg y’all I’m so sorry and confused,” the Traitors star wrote on X on Tuesday, March 4. “Everything being reported on is none of my business. My contribution to this was taken out of context and said in what I thought was relative obscurity, but it obviously wasn’t.”
Wes continued, “He moved in November, that’s all I know. I told Michele, who is a giant fan, hey, this is serious. She didn’t believe me for six months. That was the intention of the comment.”
“Again it was taken out of context but I shouldn’t be talking about it anyway,” Wes concluded in the X post. “So consider this the last time I do.”
In February, Wes claimed to cohosts Michele Fitzgerald and Kellie Nalbandian on the “Social Game” podcast that he knew about Taylor and Travis’ relationship well before the general public. The clip recirculated in early March, and fans were quick to note that his claims didn’t seem reliable due to the timeline of when Travis moved.
“He’s an enigma — on one hand, he’s like this big, tough football player,” the TV personality said about Travis during the podcast appearance. “On the other, he’s going to have about 12 Taylor Swift songs written about him.”
Wes went on to claim that Michele, 34, didn’t believe him when he first revealed that the A-list couple was dating. “OK and on that note, I was like the first person to know about any of this stuff and I tried to tell this woman a long time ago,” he said about Michele, 34. “’They are together, just so you know’ and she didn’t believe it.”
“She didn’t believe it, she was like, ‘She only goes for artists,’” Wes recalled. “I beat the validating of her showing up to games and stuff by like six months.”
Taylor and Travis’ love story began in July 2023, when the professional athlete revealed on his “New Heights” podcast that he tried and failed to ask her out while attending her Eras tour earlier that month.
The pair eventually confirmed they were dating when Taylor attended her first Chiefs game on September 24, 2023. After they were seen leaving Arrowhead Stadium together, Taylor and Travis proved they were taking their relationship seriously by making several public appearances together in the following months.
Ever since confirming their romance, Taylor and Travis have gone on to become one of the most talked about couples in Hollywood. And while the “Call It What You Want” singer seems madly in love, an insider exclusively told Life & Style that the romance has made Travis a “better man.”
“Travis has had girlfriends before, but none that he tried to impress the way he has with Taylor,” the source continued. “Taylor comes first in his life. This is a big deal for Travis.”
