While season 3 of The White Lotus doesn’t conclude until April 6, 2025, fans are already anxiously awaiting season 4. Luckily for the HBO show’s loyal viewers, the fourth installment has already been greenlit and creator Mike White has teased what’s to come. What Is ‘The White Lotus’ About?
Each season of The White Lotus follows a group of tourists and hotel employees at different White Lotus resort locations, where one of the main characters dies and another is responsible for their death.
Season 1 took place in Hawaii, while season 2 was in Italy. Meanwhile, season 3 took place in Thailand.
‘The White Lotus’ Is Coming Back for Season 4
Season 4 was confirmed in January 2025, one month before season 3 premiered on February 16, 2025. Production is expected to take place in 2026, according to Variety.
Where Will ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 Take Place?
The season 4 location has not yet been revealed, though rumors circulated that it may take place in a Scandinavian country. However, executive producer David Bernad shut down the speculation after revealing that creator Mike wouldn’t want to film in a cold climate.
“Mike does not like the cold, that is why we will never do it. I feel confident we will never do a season in the cold … Mike is not for it. He is a California guy. He is not built for the cold,” David said while appearing on “The Bill Simmons Podcast.” “Never say never, but I would be surprised. I think one of the best parts of my job now is hotels are calling me. I get the run-off. Mike says, ‘No’ … I am telling you every hotel is offering to fly us to see the hotel.”
Another place fans suspect season 4 may take place is Australasia after Mike hinted he was interested in the country. “Going down under has been on White’s radar,” Mike said at Sydney’s Vivid festival in 2023. “We kind of have to come to Australia if we keep going.”
Who Will Star in ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4?
Similar to season 4’s location, the cast has also not been revealed. Fans can expect a mostly new ensemble cast like past seasons, though the show has also been known to bring back familiar faces. Jennifer Coolidge portrayed Tanya McQuoid for season 1 and 2, while Natasha Rothwell played Belinda Lindsey in season 1 and 3. Meanwhile, Jon Gries is the only actor to appear in all of the first three seasons as Greg/Gary.
When Does ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 Premiere?
The official premiere date for season 4 has not yet been announced, though the new episodes will likely come out some time in 2026.
The first three seasons did not all come out during the same time of the year, so it’s anyone’s guess when season 4 will debut. Season 1 premiered in July 2021, while season 2 aired in October 2022. Season 3 premiered in February 2025 after it was pushed back due to the Hollywood writers’ strike and actors’ strike.
