Who Is Julian Sensley From ‘The Valley’? Meet Jax Taylor’s Friend and Brittany Cartwright’s Fling

The Valley stars Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright returned to film season 2 during their ongoing divorce, and fans learned more about their situation, including one of the men the Kentucky native hooked up with. Now, people are curious to know more about Jax’s friend, Julian Sensley.

Who Julian Sensley From ‘The Valley’?

Julian was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1982, but he grew up in Hawaii. He played college basketball for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors’ NCAA Division I team at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After college, Julian played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, an American professional basketball team of the NBA G League that’s based in Edinburg, Texas, and the franchise is affiliated with the Houston Rockets.

After he was left undrafted during the 2006 NBA Draft, Julian transitioned into an acting career. He landed roles in television series such as Magnum P.I., NCIS: Hawai’i and East New York.

How Did Jax Taylor and Julian Sensley Meet?

Julian met Jax through his former Vanderpump Rules costar Lala Kent, who he previously dated. Lala spoke about Julian during an October 2024 episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast.

“I start bringing [Julian] around the group … I would bring him on double dates, group dates, so that’s how Jax and Brittany know him,” Lala said at the time. “It was like Jax, Janet [Caperna’s] husband, Jason [Caperna], and then Julian would go. They would go out and have, like, guys nights and Julian would FaceTime me and it was just a nice distraction.”

The mom of two revealed that she and Julian began dating when he slid into her DMs after her split from ex Randall Emmett. However, after discovering some unspecified concerns in what Lala called a “background check,” she and Julian ended things.

What Happened Between Julian and Brittany Cartwright?

Fans saw Brittany rehash Jax’s crash-out in the premiere of The Valley season 2 after he discovered some explicit pictures she had sent Julian.

“Brittany and I were kind of messing with the idea of her coming back home,” Jax told his costar Jesse Lally. “I just so happened to go on the old iPad, and she was still talking to Julian.”

In the following episode, the situation came to a head and the two got into a screaming match as he packed his bags to head to an in-patient treatment facility for 30 days. When Brittany told him he had to take the situation seriously and had to stay the entire time, he shot back, “So you can go hook up with other guys?”

Even though Brittany continued to tell Jax that she wasn’t “hooking up with anybody,” he dismissed her from the room. However, when she was downstairs telling her friends that she wanted to leave, Jax came down the steps to yell at her some more.

“Sending pictures of my son to other men?” Jax asked, referencing Julian. “I have all that. You think that’s right? You think that’s normal?”

In a confessional, he added, “She can hang out and hook up with somebody that’s in my circle, and send pictures of my son to him, but yet I can’t have somebody over to the house when she’s not there? That’s gaslighting.”

Brittany recalled the moment he discovered the pictures during a conversation with Jesse’s estranged wife, Michelle Saniei, in the same episode. She claimed that Jax “flipped the coffee table” in their home and it “hit” her knee and resulted in a bruise that “turned black immediately.” Brittany also added that she and Jax were separated when the images were sent and they had an agreement that they could hook up with other people.

In November 2024, Brittany gave fans more details surrounding the incident, and admitted that while she did hook up with Julian, there was never any specific rule saying that people in her and Jax’s friend group were off limits.

“[Jax and I] did not have a no dating in the friend group policy,” Brittany said during Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast. “We never spoke about that because why would we? First off, I didn’t think I was going to hook up with his friend. It wasn’t planned. I wasn’t trying to go after one of his friends. That’s not how it happened.”
