Garcelle Beauvais announced that she’s leaving the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after five seasons. In light of the news, fans are wondering what led to her decision to quit the Bravo show.
Why Did Garcelle Beauvais Quit ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’?
The You Get Me actress announced her decision to leave RHOBH on March 25, 2025. “I have some news: I have decided to leave Beverly Hills,” she said in a video shared via Instagram. “It’s been a wild ride, some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened — but it’s been a ride nevertheless.”
As the clip continued, Garcelle explained that the decision came down to wanting to be able to spend time with her sons and pursue other projects.
“One of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family, my boys. Their last year of high school is next year and I want to be a part of that,” she said. “And Jaid is starting a new career and I want to be a part of that, too. And secondly, I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing and acting in — I can’t tell you anything now but you’ll know soon.”
Garcelle went on to thank everyone who works on RHOBH, including executive producer Andy Cohen, Bravo, NBC Universal and the show’s production companies, Evolution and 32 Flavors.
After she thanked the “the producers, the crew, and of course, the ladies,” Garcelle teased that her exit from the show may not be permanent. “Andy Cohen says I can come back anytime, the door will always be open, so you never know, I might pop back in sometime,” she said.
She concluded the clip by thanking the show’s fans for their loyalty over the years. “To the fans, I want to say thank you so much. You guys have cheered me on, supported me, and sometimes even fought for me or on my behalf,” she said. “It means a lot and I hope you guys will continue on this journey with me.”
“It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. So see you later,” Garcelle concluded in the clip, which was captioned, “Cheers to the next chapter.”

Garcelle is the proud mother to three children. She became a mother when she welcomed baby No. 1, son Oliver Saunders, in 1991 with her then-husband, Daniel Saunders. The former couple split in 2000.
The NYPD Blue actress got married a second time to CAA agent Michael Nilon in 2001, and they welcomed twin sons Jax Joseph Nilon and Jaid Thomas Nilon in 2007. Her second marriage also ended in divorce in 2011 after Garcelle learned that Michael had been cheating on her.
What Projects Does Garcelle Beauvais Have Lined Up?
While Garcelle didn’t reveal the exact professional projects she has coming up in her video announcement, it was previously announced in April 2024 that she was brought on board to executive produce three movies for Lifetime Original Movies. “Beyond excited to share!” Garcelle captioned the announcement via Instagram.
