Celebrities are just like us — they like to shop, go to the movies, and eat their own placentas? Well, some do at least, including Hilary Duff, who just recently gave birth to a baby girl, Banks Violet Blair.

The actress appeared on Dr. Elliot Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy podcast and she revealed that she drank her placenta in a smoothie. She said, “It was the most delightful smoothie I’ve ever had. I haven’t had a smoothie that delightful since I was 10. It was calorie-filled with juice and fruit and everything delicious.”

However, Hilary wasn’t always excited about swallowing the circular organ. She was “a little wigged out” at first, but then after learning that it would prevent post-partum depression and stop the post-birth bleeding, she was sold on trying it.

Since drinking the placenta, the 31-year-old feels great and has been eating the rest of it as ice cubes because she doesn’t like to take pills. Hilary and her boyfriend, Matthew Koma, welcomed their little bundle of joy on Oct. 25 after she had a “natural, drug free” water birth.

Hilary posted the photo with her new daughter and Matthew on Instagram. She wrote, “Banks Violet Blair. This little bit has fully stolen our hearts! She joined our world at home on Thursday afternoon and is absolute magic.”

One of the many reasons why fans love the former Disney Channel star is because of how real she is, especially when it comes to motherhood. She told E! News, “I don’t always balance it all, I do the best that I can, and some months are crazier than others. I’m a mother first, so he’s always my number one priority. And then my decision-making process is like, ‘Hey can I make this work? Is he going to get enough of what he needs from me?’”
