Zendaya Is ‘Super Excited’ to Plan ‘Dream Wedding’ With Fiance Tom Holland Amid Engagement
She looked stunning. Stepping onto the red carpet at the Golden Globes, where she was nominated for her work in the film Challengers, Zendaya dazzled in a glamorous Old Hollywood-inspired orange silk strapless gown by Louis Vuitton. But as she made her way inside the ballroom at the Beverly Hilton hotel, onlookers weren’t just blinded by her beauty — they couldn’t help but notice the sparkling diamond ring on her left hand.
By morning, the joyful news had been confirmed: Zendaya, 28, is engaged. The star’s love of the past five years, Tom Holland, proposed over the holidays, slipping a jaw-dropping 5.02-carat cushion-cut diamond ring in designer Jessica McCormack’s trademark button-back setting on Zendaya’s finger. “She’s super excited about planning her dream wedding,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style. “She’s always wanted to be a summer bride.” Though she and Tom, 28, are enjoying their engagement right now and are in no rush to wed, “they have already gone back and forth on whether to have a destination wedding in Italy — they both love that idea — or at a lavish private estate in L.A. overlooking the ocean,” shares the source, admitting, “They may end up doing both.”
Some things are a given. “You can expect a lot of Hollywood stars to attend,” says the source. Zendaya’s wedding dress, however, will be much more difficult to predict. The fashion icon and her stylist-turned-creative director, Law Roach, “already have an idea book filled with looks from every designer,” says the source, who expects the Dune star to wear “a gorgeous white gown when she walks down the aisle” before undergoing “multiple changes throughout the celebration.”

Zendaya didn’t hesitate to say yes when Tom proposed. In May, she gushed that she “could not be more proud” of her love, who was returning to his theater roots and starring in Romeo & Juliet in London’s West End at the time. The former child star also talked about watching his career grow and transform in the years since they met during a chemistry read for their 2017 blockbuster, Spider-Man: Homecoming. “I definitely watched his life kind of change in front of him. But he handled it really beautifully,” she said of his skyrocketing fame.
And while he’ll leave most of the wedding planning to his future wife, Tom does have one special request, says the source: “He wants them to say their vows as the sun is setting. He knows it will be a magical moment.”
