Kylie Jenner’s Former Assistant and BFF Victoria Villarroel Is Now an Influencer! Get to Know Her
Working for Kylie Jenner sounds like a dream, right? It’s no surprise the opportunity opens up tons of doors. Meet Victoria Villarroel, Kylie’s former personal assistant who is now one of the makeup mogul’s BFFs and an influencer in her own right.
The brunette beauty, who currently boasts 2 million Instagram followers, started working for Kris Jenner’s Jenner Communications as an office assistant before she was promoted to Kylie’s PA in 2015. She would “see Kylie [in the office] all the time” prior to becoming her right-hand woman.
“I remember — it’s funny — I saved my number in her phone as ‘Victoria the Princess.’ Like, I was very confident back then,” Victoria revealed via YouTube in 2016 about one of their first meetings. “And then, like, fast-forward to now, like, a year ago, I came back looking for a job and she needed someone, so they just took me. And she still had me saved as ‘Victoria the Princess.’”
Believe it or not, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising alum didn’t have the best first day on the job. “So I walked [into her house] and I remember she had just woken up and I saw her coming down the stairs and someone’s like, ‘Hey, Kylie, this is Victoria, your new assistant,’ and I was like, ‘Hey.’ And she looked at me and she told me something and I couldn’t understand!” Victoria previously recalled. “So I was like, ‘Sorry, what do you mean?’ I couldn’t understand her and she said it like three times. I was like, ’S—t, I don’t know what you’re saying.’ I got really frustrated.”
She added, “So I was like, ‘That was a great first impression.’ And then she looked at me and was like, ‘No, never mind.’ And I was like, ‘F—k. I f—ked up.’”
In December 2016, Victoria opened up about what the job was like — aside from that initial snafu — in an interview posted to Kylie’s website. “It’s fun, though. It’s, like, fun,” the Venezuela native gushed at the time. “It’s work, but it’s fun.”
It didn’t take long for the dynamic duo’s working relationship to blossom into a full-fledged friendship. “One time we were in her room and we were talking and she told me — and I remember and I think this is, like, word-by-word — she said, ‘Close the door. I wanna tell you my deepest secrets,’” the Vogue Italia model said via YouTube in 2016 of the moment she and Kylie became besties. “And I was like, ‘OK.’ So I closed the door and we just talked forever. And I think that’s when we bonded.”
In January 2019, Victoria and Kylie parted ways professionally — but a year later, the former assistant took to social media to clear up rumors that the pair were feuding due to her departure. “You guys! Don’t believe everything you read, please! This story is false. I worked with Kylie for five years and she became one of my closest friends,” she wrote via Instagram in January 2020. “We both decided it was time to grow without each other professionally about a year ago! She’s still one of my best friends and our relationship has only gotten stronger.”
She has since been seen living it up with Kylie on several trips and enjoying their relationship as pals. The more things change, the more they stay the same!
