Daryl and Neil began their relationship in 2014. They were occasionally spotted out and about together in the early days of their romance, from dinner dates in Rome to marching side by side in Washington, D.C., for a protest against the Keystone XL oil pipeline.

The Blade Runner actress and the “For What It’s Worth” singer quietly tied the knot in summer 2018. In October 2018, Neil confirmed they were married by casually referring to Daryl as his “wife” on his website in a post speaking out against gun violence.
“With no real laws protecting us from guns, and with politicians supporting the NRA because the NRA supports them, we are not well represented,” he wrote next to a clip of a performance of “Ohio” by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, which was written about the Kent University shooting in 1970. “My wife Daryl and I put this video together for you to reflect on.”

In March 2020, around the time of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, Neil and Daryl played music together on Instagram livestreams.
“Please be safe & take care, sending much [folded hands emoji] & [growing heart emoji] from us & [pawprints emoji] [shamrock emoji] [green heart emoji],” the Kill Bill star captioned one of the clips.

Daryl and Neil are still married, but their current lives look different than they did at the start of their relationship. The pair reportedly moved away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood to live in rural Canada sometime after September 2020.
In March 2021, the “Heart of Gold” singer — who has dual citizenship in Canada and the United States — announced he and his wife had “moved back to Canada to an old cottage on the lake,” in an article published to his Neil Young Archives website.

While the couple haven’t said much publicly about the reasons behind their move, a source exclusively revealed to Life & Style that some of Daryl’s “experiences” in California had been “gnarly enough that she gets anxiety whenever she sees trailers set up for a movie set.”
“Where she’s living now, it’s the middle of nowhere,” the source shared. “She loves the peace and quiet they have where they live, they’re really able to focus on their art. Neil is still making music, she’s working on another movie about him, which she loves doing. Moving far away from L.A. has brought her a lot of peace.”
