Are Riley Green, Ella Langley Dating? Country Stars Spark Rumors With ‘You Look Like You Love Me’ Duet
Riley Green and Ella Langley have made headlines with their hit 2024 song “You Look Like You Love Me.” The song blew up after it was released in June 2024, eventually reaching No. 1 on the Country Airplay charts and winning Musical Event of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards. But are Riley and Ella more than just duet partners?
Are Riley Green and Ella Langley Dating?
Despite sparking romance rumors amid the success of “You Look Like You Love Me,” Riley and Ella are not dating. “We’re just friends,” she insisted in September 2024.
Riley addressed the fascination about his and Ella’s relationship in an interview with Kiss Country 99.9, telling the station, “[It’s] the same reason I think that, like, George [Jones] and Tammy [Wynette] … Johnny Cash and June Carter … and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. It’s like everybody just wants to believe in that couple, you know, if you can have that.”
He later told Nick Viall and Natalie Joy during a December 2024 episode of their “The Viall Files” podcast that he and Ella are “strictly friends.”
“Ella’s probably too smart to date me anyway,” he said. “When we first started having success with that song, I kinda told Ella, ‘There’s gonna be a lot of things said, but I mean you don’t really gotta play into it or not play into it.'”
How Did Riley Green and Ella Langley Meet?
“I’ve been a big fan of Ella Langley for a long time,” the country singer told Backstage Country in November 2024. “We met through a mutual friend and I was kind of in as soon as I heard her voice and her twang and how country she sounded. And also that she loved what I would call traditional country music.”
Since Ella and Riley are both from Alabama, they had that hometown connection too. “Riley was probably the first famous person I ever met,” she told Taste of Country. “He was playing all the same bars I went to, and I played the same bars as him. It’s cool to see Alabama people winning.”
Ella opened for Riley on the Ain’t My Last Rodeo tour in 2024, which is when they collaborated on “You Look Like You Love Me.” Ella had just cut the track right before her pal asked her to join him on the road.
“I was like, ‘Dang, imagine if Riley were to write a second verse of this song?’” she recalled to People. “Just him talking. It’s a different thing and stuff that we both grew up on. It’s just been such a cool experience to experience all of this with somebody.”
As for his side of the story, Riley explained, “I don’t think any of us had any idea [how big it would get]. I heard the song through our mutual friend and Ella played it for me some, and I wrote a verse for it. And it just became this giant hit song.”
Ella will be joining Riley on the road again for his Damn Country Music tour in 2025. In October 2024, Ella was also featured on Riley’s song “Don’t Mind If I Do.”
Is Riley Green Married?
Riley is not married and generally keeps his personal life private.
“I think for the last six years I’ve been easily distracted by my lifestyle,” he admitted on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast in November 2024. One year earlier, he told Taste of Country that it’s been “tough” for him to settle down. “You’re spending a couple hundred days on the road – I don’t know many girls who are OK with that,” Riley explained.
However, the “There Was This Girl” singer does have his two dogs to keep him company. He was previously linked to Sophia Sansone after they attended the CMT Awards together in 2022, but they never actually confirmed that they were dating.
