Ooh, la la! On Nov. 19, Ariana Grande took to Instagram to share a new picture with two of her girl friends. Nothing out of the ordinary, right? Well, how’s this for a plot twist: Ari happens to be kissing one of the lovely ladies — right smack on the lips!
Naturally, fans have flooded the comment section with all sorts of questions about the singer’s sexuality. “OMG! Did you come out of the closet?” one fan wrote. “We love a bisexual queen,” added another.
At the end of the day, we’d support Ariana no matter who she loves. That said, we don’t think Ari is saying “thank u, next” to men, we think she was just joking around with her BFF! Let’s go over some evidence, shall we?
For starters, the 25-year-old’s caption is a Mean Girls quote. “Yeah, but she’s my FIRST cousin,” Ari wrote before tagging her two friends. We don’t know about y’all, but it’s safe to say that if Ariana were coming out, she wouldn’t reference Karen Smith making out with her cousin… on multiple occasions.
Secondly, the girl that Ariana is kissing, Courtney Chipolone, has been her bestie for years now! In fact, the pair has matching tattoos that say “Court.” We’re not suggesting that a platonic friendship can’t become romantic, but that hardly seems to be the case here. y’all.
Our best guess? Ari was being goofy with her gal pals. Which, TBH, she totally deserves to experience after the last few months she’s had. Between losing her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, to a tragic drug overdose, and splitting up with her former fiancé, Pete Davidson, Ariana needs some girl time.
