She’s on fire! Ariana Grande took the stage at the 2018 VMAs to perform her hit single “God is a Woman” and it was everything. The 25-year-old performed her heart out, and then at the end of the performance, she even brought out her mom and her Nonna to the stage. We’re not crying, you are! 

Many fans were pretty confused about who the third woman was (in fact, a lot of people on Twitter assumed she was Pete Davidson’s mom!), but she’s actually Ariana’s cousin, Lani.

Earlier in the evening, the Sweetener singer made her red carpet debut with fiancé Pete Davidson and the two packed on the PDA. (Pete even wore a bracelet with a secret message for his girl, so yes, they’re couple goals.) The twosome have been inseparable ever since their whirlwind engagement, so it’s no surprise they were hugging and kissing all night. When Ariana took home the award for Best Pop Song, she gave an acceptance speech and simply told her beau, “Thank you for existing.”

Ariana recently gushed about her man to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show and admitted she wanted to marry Pete before they were even friends! “We met on SNL two or three years ago,” the singer explained. “We never exchanged numbers, we weren’t even friends for the longest time. I had the biggest crush in the world on him for a long time, like forever. My friends used to make fun of me for it.” 

“I left his writer’s room when we were writing skits for the show and my tour manager was in the hallway — and I’m not like a crush-y person. I don’t have crushes on people I don’t know,” she continued. “But I left and I like jokingly said to my tour manager, I said, ‘I’m marrying him, 100 percent. I’m literally marrying him.’ We weren’t even friends. I didn’t even see him at the after party!”

Is that story too cute or what? We’re so glad to see how far Pete and Ariana have come — even if they’ve only been dating for a couple of months!
