Ariana Grande Gets Fans Excited For Her Tour With ‘Needy’ iHeartRadio Performance

Yes, queen! Ariana Grande completely slayed during her performance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 14. Fans were glad to see the pop star ahead of her Thank U, Next and Sweetener tour that kicks off in less than a week. She definitely gave people a reason to be excited because her number during the awards show was everything.

Considering she’s embarking on a worldwide tour so soon, the artist pre-recorded a sultry performance of her song “needy” from the newest Thank U, Next album. She sat on a stool with a ponytail that was reminiscent of something a Disney princess would rock. The pop star looked casual in plaid pants and an oversized jacket. She sounded beautiful and it was the perfect way to start her tour.

Arianators were thrilled to see her after her debacle planning for the Grammys this year. The songstress was originally supposed to perform during the February 10 show but ended up pulling out last minute. One of the show’s producers, Ken Ehrlich, told The Associated Press that Ariana “felt it was too late for her to pull something together” which caused her to back out of performing.

However, the former Nickelodeon star had a strong response to the claims and aired it all out on Twitter. She posted the article on her social media account and followed with a total tweetstorm about the situation.

“I’ve kept my mouth shut, but now you’re lying about me,” she clapped back. “I can pull together a performance overnight, and you know that, Ken. It was when my creativity & self-expression was stifled by you that I decided not to attend. I hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more.”

She continued, “I offered three different songs. It’s about collaboration. It’s about feeling supported. It’s about art and honesty. Not politics. Not doing favors or playing games. It’s just a game y’all … And I’m sorry, but that’s not what music is to me.” After a small quip that she saw a Grammys bus advertisement with her face on it, she completed her rant by saying, “Hope that helps everyone understand my decision … I am still grateful for the acknowledgment this year.” Sweetener ended up winning a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album proving that you can’t stop a queen.

We love you, Ari!
