Ashley Graham’s Nude Pregnancy Post Comes With an Emotional Backstory: ‘I Just Felt Terrible’
Sometimes, a picture really is worth a thousand words. On August 18, a pregnant Ashley Graham took to social media to share a powerful, nude photo of her changing body. With her stretch marks on full display, the longtime model wrote, “Same same but a little different.”
Unsurprisingly, Ashley, 32, was championed for her brave post. However, since then, the Nebraska native has revealed the emotional backstory behind the snapshot.
“I had just announced that I was pregnant and I thought I was [going to] feel good … and I didn’t. I just felt terrible,” Ashley told guest Taylor Hoit during a November 15 episode of her online video series Fearless.
“That morning actually, I really thought to myself, ‘Get it together, Ashley. There are other women out there who are going through the same thing as you,'” Ashley continued. “‘Why don’t you have a dialogue with them? This is a new body that I’m walking into. Why don’t I just put myself out there with this new body?’”
Despite her initial feelings of isolation and loneliness, Ashley has since gone on to embrace her body to the fullest. “Ashley’s showed her fans and the world that being pregnant can be glorious,” a source exclusively told Life & Style. “She’s not only calm and actually glowing, but she feels sexy. She’s doing yoga, posing on red carpets in gorgeous clothes [and] she’s feeling herself like never before.”
“Ashley’s feeling very bittersweet about her pregnancy. She can’t wait to welcome her baby, but she never imagined how much she would embrace her pregnancy, the insider continued. That’s why she says she’s going to miss her baby bump.”
Ashley and her husband, Justin Ervin, announced they were expecting on August 14. Since then, the body-positive mama-to-me has already spilled the beans on her baby’s sex! During an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she accidentally exclaimed, “I’m having a boy!”
Needless to say, we can’t wait to meet him.
