We love that! Former Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his soon-to-be-wife Lauren Burnham happily revealed the gender of their baby on Jan. 4, and they’re going to have a daughter! “IT’S A GIRL!!!” Arie wrote on Instagram, clearly thrilled to be the daddy to a little princess.

The couple is beyond overjoyed for their new addition, and Lauren admitted that this is what they really wanted. “I think, to be honest, in the beginning we were both hoping that we were having a girl,” she told Us Weekly. But believe it or not, for a while, they believed they were having a son!

“We actually did the early gender test online, so we took our test at 10 weeks,” she explained. “We got the results back from that, and it was that we were having a boy.” It wasn’t until five weeks later at their 15-week checkup that the doctor found out they were actually having a girl. That was super awkward, considering they filmed a special reveal for the premiere of The Bachelor saying they were having a boy. Thank goodness they found out the truth before it went live on Jan. 7! That’ll be a funny story for the kids one day.

Everyone in the franchise is extremely excited for Arie and Lauren’s new addition, including Chris Harrison. “I was so excited. He gave me a call and they were unbelievably surprised and excited. I’m so happy for them. He’s going to be a great dad,” Chris exclusively told Life & Style during KIIS FM’s iHeart Radio Jingle Ball. “He’s such a lover and he’s such a — I mean this in a loving way, he’s such a nerd and he’s such a goofy guy. Like he’s going to be such a good dad rolling around on the carpet with his baby, and they’re great.”

“They built their house, they built their home. And so everything’s kind of perfect for them right now. I wish them the best. I love him to death,” the host gushed. The reality couple has a very exciting year ahead, starting with their wedding on Jan. 12 in Hawaii and we can’t wait to see their family grow!
