Britney Spears Reunites With Sons Sean and Jayden for Christmas: ‘I Haven’t Seen My Boys in 2 Years’

Holiday joy! Britney Spears revealed she had the “Best Christmas of my life” as she got to spend it with sons Sean and Jayden.

“I haven’t seen my boys in 2 years!!! Tears of joy and literally in shock everyday koo koo crazy so in love and blessed!!! I’m speechless thank you Jesus!!!” the “Everytime” singer, 43, wrote in the caption of a Wednesday, December 25, Instagram post that included a sweet video.

Britney and Jayden, 18, stood next to a roaring fire as they wished others a Merry Christmas, while the proud mom kissed her son on the cheek. Sean, 19, wasn’t seen in the brief clip.

The Grammy winner shares her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline, whom she was married to from 2004 through 2007.

Britney lost custody of her boys to Kevin, 46, following a well-publicized breakdown in 2008. She maintained an on-and-off relationship with her sons until Kevin moved with them to Hawaii in 2023.

The “Toxic” singer reunited with Jayden in November for the first time since his move, when he joined his mom in Los Angeles.

“Jayden coming out to L.A. is massive for Britney, it’s something she’s been dreaming of for so long,” an insider exclusively told Life & Style of the mother-son reunion. “She knows that if she wants more time with him, and hopefully Sean Preston too, she’s got to keep things calm and drama-free”

“Britney’s throwing her whole heart into rebuilding her relationship with Jayden and making it all work. And her dream is that Sean Preston will follow him to L.A. next,” the source added.

Jayden explained in a 2022 interview that his mom “struggled” to give him and his older brother “equal love.”

“I don’t think she showed enough to Preston, and I feel really bad for that,” he told The Daily Mail. “We’ve both been through so much pressure in the past that this is our safe place now, to process all the emotional trauma we’ve been through to heal, heal our mental state.”

He added, “If I complained, she went after him. I feel guilty, so I am there for him.”

Kevin’s attorney, Mark Kaplan, told Entertainment Tonight in June that the boys had “a desire” to mend their relationship with their mom.

“Reconciliations and the reunification of relationships are difficult and take time. They are sometimes complicated and always a lengthy process. The process has not really commenced, let alone [been] completed,” he told the outlet. “The good thing is that the boys saw their mom was doing well and have a desire to speak with her. There has been some telephonic communication between Britney and her sons, and we think that is a step in the right direction.”

Britney married longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari in June 2022, although he filed for divorce in August 2023. Two months after the wedding, Kevin spoke out about his sons’ strained relationship with their mom.

“The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now,” Kevin told The Daily Mail in August 2022. “It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding.”

The former backup dancer also cited Britney’s nearly naked Instagram posts for driving a wedge between her sons.

“I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough,” he shared. “I can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school.”

Britney immediately fired back after Kevin’s comments.

“It saddens me to hear that my ex-husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children,” the Crossroads star wrote via Instagram Stories in August 2022. “As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone. It concerns me that the reason is based on my Instagram. It was LONG before Instagram. I gave them everything. Only one word: hurtful. I’ll say it. My mother told me, ‘You should GIVE them to their dad.’ I’m sharing this because I can.”
