The 41-year-old former Voice judge is engaged to longtime girlfriend, Shani James. The couple has been engaged for about a year, but haven’t gone public with the big news until now.

But his “very genuine and honest” woman changed his mind about keeping the news a secret. “Maybe it is time for the world to know that I have a very secure situation and a loving woman supporting me the entire way,” he added.

The Grammy winner is preparing for the release of his new album Heart Blanche, which drops on Nov. 13. He was previously married to Christina Johnson for five years before divorcing in 2005.
