Time flies! Chris Brown took to Instagram to share a photo of his daughter, Royalty Brown, on her first day of school and she’s so big — she almost looks unrecognizable.

“My baby first day of school!! Where has the time gone? SO PROUD OF YOU BOOBOO,” he captioned the sweet pic of his little one posing in her uniform and holding a pink backpack. Fans couldn’t help but swarm the comments section with love. “Congrats. I know you’re a proud Papa! Think back to the day she was born. She’ll be graduating high school before you can blink,” one person wrote. “OMG, she’s so grown up!” wrote a second fan “Too cute … They grow up so fast,” a third person commented.

It’s hard to believe Royalty is already 5 years old. The “Pills and Automobiles” crooner welcomed his baby girl in May 2014, and he’s been gushing about her ever since. In 2016, the singer got candid about how becoming a dad has changed him for the better. “Learning how to be a dad, especially learning how to take care of somebody else, it’s actually very great. It’s very humbling, very calming,” he said during an On Air with Ryan Seacrest appearance at the time.

Chris also confessed that being patient is “the main thing” he’s become better at. “Being able to be a father and seeing my daughter from those gradual stages — from crawling, to walking, to saying words, to learning different things every day — is kind of teaching me patience, and it’s been great,” he continued, noting that fatherhood is “mellowing” him out.

However, he faces challenges trying to balance his career and his role as a dad. “That’s like the part that’s hard. You get the chance to be an artist all the time, but when it’s time to be a dad, to be a father, like sometimes the industry can kind of get in the way of that,” he said. But I’ve been trying to be proactive and make sure she has the right outlets and I’m always having one on one time with her.”

Based on Royalty’s big smile, it looks like he’s doing a great job!
