Think before you speak. That was model and mama Chrissy Teigen‘s lesson for a fan when they asked her about a potential “baby bump” in one of her Instagram photos. Needless to say, the 33-year-old saw the opportunity to lay down a little pregnancy wisdom in response.

“Baby bump?” one user commented on the sweet photo she posted of herself and her husband, John Legend. Not only did that not sit right with Chrissy’s fans, who naturally jumped to her defense in replies, but the model herself didn’t love it too much, either.

“I know you didn’t mean it to be rude but think twice asking this, there are people who have trouble conceiving and it hurts every time,” the mama-of-two educated the fan. “I’m not pregnant but would be happy if I were. But I’m also happy not to be!”

Another follower chimed in with some relatable words about that postpartum life. “It also hurts when you are trying to lose your baby weight and still have a bump and people think this or ask this question,” she wrote with a sad face emoji.

Chrissy replied with solidarity — and we’d expect nothing less from the quirky mama. “Yeah, I’m already reminded of it every time I get out of the shower, I don’t need to hear it on the daily LOL.”

The Sports Illustrated babe has spoken out quite a bit about the post-baby experience over the years. Plus, she’s always been about that body confidence life, so we definitely aren’t surprised to see her coming to bat for ladies trying to lose their baby weight.  Back in May, she even came clean about her struggle with postpartum depression.

“I felt bad [about having postpartum depression] because we had so many resources,” she revealed in an interview with PorterEdit on May 24. “John was great and helpful. My mom was here … I was embarrassed.”

You got this, mama!
