Demi Moore Seemingly Snubs Kylie Jenner at Golden Globes After Reality Star Recreated ‘Striptease’ Look
Fans of Kylie Jenner are questioning if she was snubbed by Demi Moore after a video of the pair’s seemingly awkward interaction at the 2025 Golden Globes went viral.
After Demi, 62, won her first Golden Globe for her role in the film Substance at the awards show on Sunday, January 5, the actress headed over to chat with Elle Fanning, who was seated at a table beside Kylie, 27, and her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet. The Ghost actress gave Elle, 26, a hug and talked with her excitedly as Kylie interjected to congratulate Demi, as seen in a video shared on the Golden Globes’ official TikTok page.
Demi appeared to glance over at Kylie for a moment and respond to the reality star, although her long hair fell over her face, so it’s unclear what the Now and Then alum said. She then turned back to Elle and continued to talk for a few more seconds, with Kylie appearing to look uncomfortable due to the perceived snub. Finally, Demi moved over to chat with Timothée, 29, and Kylie turned in her seat to seemingly try to engage with the actress once more.
Fans in the comments section sounded off about the interaction, with many users calling out Demi for seemingly ignoring Kylie.
“Don’t like how she ignored Kylie, talked to the other two girls and hopped right over her to talk to Timothée. Don’t like the cattiness! Kylie was clearly trying to congratulate [her],” one person wrote.
“Well truth be told, where I’m from, if you come to someone’s table, you greet everyone there, it doesn’t matter if you know them or not. It’s just not nice not to do that … but, that’s just me,” another user added.
On the other hand, some fans defended Demi’s actions and believed others were reading too much into the moment.
“People saying ‘poor Kylie’ for not being acknowledged, it’s not her night nor about her. She’s not an actress or anyone of importance in this setting,” one person pointed out.
Another fan wrote, “She said thank you to her! Was not rude at all. They probably don’t know each other. Whereas it’s clear she has a relationship with the other ppl there.”
Back in October 2024, Kylie hinted that she’s a fan of Demi by recreating the Emmy nominee’s iconic looks from her 1996 film Striptease, in which Demi played FBI-secretary-turned-stripper Erin Grant. One of the Kardashians star’s Halloween costumes was a replica of Erin’s sparkling bikini and white button-down. Meanwhile, the makeup mogul also recreated the film’s poster, where Demi posed nude.
Demi showed her support for the costumes by liking Kylie’s posts and reposting them on her page, according to Page Six.
While Demi was at the 2025 Golden Globes for The Substance, for which she won Best Actress in a Motion Picture — Comedy or Musical, Kylie attended the awards show to support her boyfriend, who was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama for A Complete Unknown.
Kylie and Timothée have been dating since spring 2023. This is the second year in a row that the reality star accompanied the Wonka actor at the Golden Globes, although she skipped the red carpet at both events.
