Does Garrett Yrigoyen win The Bachelorette? Season 14 of ABC's hit reality TV dating show just got underway, and fans are going to get to watch Becca Kufrin hand out roses and find herself a husband. Like in true franchise tradition, the first rose that Becca handed out was the first impression rose. Garrett was the lucky recipient of the coveted rose and judging by past seasons, this means that Garrett could have a pretty good chance of doing the damn thing and actually winning.

The first impression rose is meant to be given to contestant who stands out the most to the Bachelorette or Bachelor. While this might not be the case for the Bachelor, the past three Bachelorettes have each giving their first impression roses to the men who ended up winning their season — so it's a pretty good indicator that Garrett could go far or Becca could completely break with tradition.

But she might want to consider keeping with that tradition because it could increase the odds of her relationship working out after the season is over. Kaitlyn Bristowe was the Season 11 Bachelorette when she handed out her first impression rose to contestant Shawn Booth, and the couple is still together three years later. Season 12 Bachelorette star JoJo Fletcher gave former NFL star Jordan Rogers her first impression rose, and two years later, they're still flaunting their #CoupleGoals-status love on Instagram. And Season 13 Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay is still together and going strong with her first impression rose recipient Bryan Abasolo nearly one year later.

It's unclear why the first impression rose winner = season winner theory worked for the past three bachelorettes — but it may have something to do with the fact that the first impression roses are based on the Bachelorette's first instincts about someone after they meet for the first time, and could indicate that there's a strong connection or vibe between her and the contestant. Becca gushed over their strong connection in her confessional after she gave Garrett the rose. "Since he pulled up in that minivan, I was smitten by him," Becca said. "He’s so easy to talk to and so sweet."

Plus, fans think that Becca dropped a major hint about Garrett's fate when she discussed his social media scandal. In case you missed it, Garrett came under fire and ultimate deleted his Instagram after it was revealed that not only followed a page full of anti-immigrant and transphobic (among other problematic) memes, which he "liked" on his personal Instagram page. When asked about the controversy, Becca urged viewers to be open-minded.

"I want viewers to be open to everyone, and I want them to go through this season with me and watch my love story unfold with all these men…because that's how I went into this journey," she told Entertainment Tonight. She also mentioned that she "did things in the past" that she seemingly regrets, and added, "I can't fault anyone for what they believe and who's to say that anyone is truly what they believe in if they just double tap."

Needless to say, people are convinced that Becca is defending Garrett because, well, they think he's her fiancé.
