Donna Kelce Reveals If Taylor Swift Will Be at the Thanksgiving Week Chiefs Game: ‘She’s Kinda Busy’
Taylor Swift might not be giving thanks with the Kelce family at Arrowhead Stadium this year, according to Donna Kelce.
Travis Kelce’s mom, 72, appeared on Today on Thursday, November 14, to share her go-to recipe for Thanksgiving dinner rolls, and she spoke about her family’s plans for the upcoming holiday.
“I am going to be at a football game,” Donna said. “Travis is playing the day after Thanksgiving. You know, football is always the holidays. Football is family. … Not that anything is planned yet. I think we’re just going to be at the football game and doing that.”
The Kansas City Chiefs are set to play a home game against the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium on November 29. But will Taylor, 34, join her boyfriend’s family — including Donna, dad Ed Kelce, brother Jason Kelce and sister-in-law Kylie Kelce — in the VIP suite to watch Travis, 35, on the field?
“I don’t think so,” Donna said when host Craig Melvin asked if she would see the pop star for Thanksgiving. “She’s kinda busy right now. She still has her tour to do.”
Taylor is set to continue her Eras tour with six shows in Toronto, Canada, from November 14 through November 23. She will then head to Vancouver, Canada, for three final shows on December 6, 7 and 8.
Though Donna isn’t sure that the “Cruel Summer” singer will make it to the big game, Taylor does have the entire week of Thanksgiving and most of the following week off. It’s still unclear if she will fly back to Kansas City to see Travis play against the Raiders.
The “Lavender Haze” hitmaker and the tight end, who began dating in July 2023, were unable to spend Thanksgiving together last year due to Taylor wrapping up her shows in São Paulo, Brazil. Travis revealed that he would spend the holiday “feasting on KFC because I won’t have anybody here,” although he did meet up with friends, including Aric Jones, for the massive feast. Aric shared a photo of their order, which included “56 pieces of chicken, 80 hot wings, 3 catering sized mashed potatoes and gravy, 2 mac and cheese, 2 corn.”
Though Taylor did not join Travis on Thanksgiving 2023, she jetted out of Brazil as soon as her shows were complete to meet up with her boyfriend the Monday after the holiday.
Taylor has been a mainstay at Chiefs games since she went public with Travis in September 2023. Most recently, the pop star and her parents, Andrea Swift and Scott Swift, visited Arrowhead Stadium to witness the Chiefs’ victory over the Denver Broncos. She has attended all five home games this season so far, proving that her busy tour schedule won’t keep her from watching her man on the football field.
Travis has returned the favor by attending his girlfriend’s concerts whenever he has the chance. He made a surprise appearance at one of her final U.S. shows at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on November 2.
“I wanted to see Tay one more time before this thing got closed up,” the footballer later shared on his and Jason’s “New Heights” podcast. “I’ll tell you what, man, that thing was rocking. Absolutely rocking.”
A source exclusively told Life & Style on Wednesday, November 13, that Taylor “has felt like she’s had the best year of her life” with her NFL boyfriend.
“Her relationship with Travis has strengthened so many parts of her and made her more confident and fearless,” the insider said. “Finding a love like this has changed Taylor.”
