‘Golden Bachelorette’ Preview: Joan Fears Chock’s ‘Feelings Have Faded’ Amid Fantasy Suites Week
The Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos admitted she worried Chock Chapple’s feelings for her might have “faded” amid the fantasy suites week.
“This week is fantasy suites,” Joan, 61, said in a teaser clip for the Wednesday, October 30, episode shared on The Golden Bachelorette’s Instagram account. “I’m hopeful I’m gonna find somebody that I’m gonna spend the rest of my life with and this ends with an engagement.”
After clips showed Joan on dates with Chock, 60, Guy Gansert and Pascal Ibgui, the teaser showed Joan and Chock having an intense conversation. After Chock admitted in a confessional that he wasn’t sure if he saw himself getting engaged, Joan confronted him with her concerns.
“I wonder if your feelings have faded,” she told him.
While fans didn’t get to see Chock’s response, the clip also teased other intense moments from the episode. At one point, Pascal, 69, insisted that he was “not OK” and asked the cameras to go away.
The clip concluded with Joan recalling a conversation with an unnamed suitor. “He said, ‘I know what true love is, and I don’t feel that for you,’” she said in a confessional. “This hurts.”
Shortly after the clip was uploaded, many social media users took to the comments section to guess which suitor said they didn’t feel true love for Joan. All three men seemed like strong possibilities, and fans made it clear they were rooting for Joan’s happiness. “I’m hopeful that there is an engagement at the end,” one person commented.
While fans will have to wait until the finale on November 6 to see if Joan ends up engaged, viewers will get to see the fantasy suite week play out on the October 30 episode.
Prior to the episode, Joan revealed that she chose to not be physically intimate with her suitors during their alone time. In fact, she made it clear that the idea wasn’t even an option by not including a bed in the fantasy suite.
“I would never have a physical relationship with more than one person,” Joan said during a September episode of The View. “I said [that] right away. I wanted to do fantasy suites because there’s a lot of value being able to talk to someone without cameras. So I said, ‘I want to do fantasy suites, but I don’t want a bed in there. I’m taking that off the table.’”

She explained that she viewed the fantasy suites as a way to create “emotional intimacy” between her and the suitors. “The men were also very respectful about that and kind of liked the idea,” Joan continued. “They thought it was a good idea. I’m not judging anyone else the way they did it, just for me, that was the way to do it.”
Joan also previously admitted that her four kids weren’t comfortable with her being physically affectionate on the show, which played into the decision.
“You have to acknowledge that you have to want to kiss a guy for this to work, so I did kiss people,” she said during an appearance of LIVE With Kelly and Mark. “But I did not do fantasy suites. I did fantasy suites but I did it my way. I said, ‘I don’t feel comfortable having a physical relationship with more than one person, so that’s off the table.’ I do see we need to have conversations off camera, those are important conversations to have. So this is more about being intimate in a different way, but not physically. So [the kids] were safe [from that].”
