Golden Bachelorette’s Pascal Ibgui Dresses as Joan Vassos for Halloween: ‘Will You Accept This Rose?’
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the Golden Bachelorette‘s Pascal Ibgui paid a fun and hilarious tribute to Joan Vassos by dressing up as her for Halloween. Warning: This story contains spoilers about season 1 of The Golden Bachelorette.
Pascal, 70, donned a shimmering gold sleeveless dress along with a long blonde curly wig to dress as his love interest in a photo posted to Instagram on October 26. He added strappy gold heels and matching fishnet stocking to complete his look, along with facial makeup.
“Pascal, will you accept this rose,” the Paris, France, native wrote in the caption, as he held up a long-stemmed gold rose while posing with a huge smile. Pascal tagged his location as his suburban Chicago salon, Pascal Pour Elle, which was decorated with cobwebs for the spooky holiday.
While Joan, 61, has yet to comment on Pascal’s Halloween tribute to her, fans adored his costume.
“I am dying! This is too good! You’re so golden!” one person commented, while another added, “Pascal — Love ya — I will accept your rose with all my heart! Hysterical.”
“Perfect! Your feet are gonna hurt but this is great!!” a follower wrote, while another user told Pascal, “You’re so funny.”
After having initial concerns about Pascal’s interest in her, Joan revealed the side of him she’s most attracted to after going to Chicago for their hometown date.
“I love that he’s a family man. He’s generous with his love and he’s generous with his heart. All these things are things that I admire in a man,” she gushed.
Pascal is a divorced father of three adult kids: daughter Natalie from a previous relationship and son Maxim and daughter Sara, whom he shares with ex-wife Tracy. He’s also a grandfather, as Natalie has a son, Pryce.
The hair expert is still in the running for Joan’s final rose on The Golden Bachelorette, although he didn’t go all the way when filming took place, according to show spoiler Reality Steve. The series was filmed in June and July and season 1 premiered on September 18.
In addition to Pascal, Chock Chapple and Guy Gansert were Joan’s final three contestants, with Joan giving her final rose to Chock, although it’s unclear if they got engaged.
Steve reported that Pascal sent himself home before the final rose ceremony.
“From everything I’ve heard, Pascal eliminated himself because he wasn’t in love with Joan,” Steve wrote on September 18, 2024. “I just don’t know if that happened at final 2 or final 3.” The blogger initially reported in August 2024 that Guy was the final pick, with Chock being sent home at final 3 and Pascal self-eliminating at final 3. However, weeks later, he updated the spoilers to report Chock got the final rose.
Joan said before the show began filming that she wouldn’t be relocating from her home in Rockville, Maryland, to make a relationship work. But she told Us Weekly that she was on board with a long-distance relationship in an October 16 interview.
“I don’t consider it a negative thing. It could be really fun,” Joan, revealed to the outlet.
“When I have something great going on, my person could come be with me, and vice versa. We’ll spend two or three weeks with each other every month,” she explained. “I know this sounds aspirational, [but] you can make it work. The logistics shouldn’t be what stops you from being together.”
