Hailey and Justin Bieber ‘Want the World to Know They Are Very Much Together’ Amid Split Rumors

Are the Biebers on the brink of a breakup? “It doesn’t look like things are going too well,” TikToker Sloan Hooks declared in a December 29, 2024, video that quickly racked up more than 5 million views. After seeing a clip Hailey posted on social media seemingly showing her on vacation in Anguilla with pals, the content creator further speculated that the couple “aren’t spending the holidays together.”

Hailey and Justin weren’t having it. The Rhode beauty founder used another TikTok video to pointedly respond on December 30, 2024, writing, “Me to all of you on the Internet,” atop a clip of a man laughing and repeatedly saying, “You’re not well and it’s OK.”

Days later, Justin offered his own relationship proof of life, writing, “Goin anywhere with u bb,” alongside an Instagram photo of Hailey, 28, wearing a bikini, a fur coat and a “Happy New Year” headband on January 1. He also posted a pic of himself planting a kiss on her neck on January 4.

“Their relationship has been scrutinized since the beginning,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style. “It was a lot to deal with in those early days, especially for Hailey, who felt a lot of insecurity over constant comparisons” to his ex Selena Gomez.

Though the Biebers usually loath to address split rumors, they’ve felt pressure to respond amid the recent scrutiny — especially since they’re parents now: Son Jack Blues arrived in August 2024, a month before they celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary. With their recent social media posts, “they’re setting the record straight,” says the source. “They want the world to know they are very much together.”

Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber Have Tough Days

Hailey and Justin have faced recent challenges, though. In fact, their relationship was changed in ways the duo never could’ve imagined upon welcoming a baby. “Jack’s brought them closer together,” says the source, “but new parenthood is hard on all couples.”

Justin, 30, also “has a tendency to cut people from his life, which can feel really isolating,” adds the source. On January 4, it emerged that the “Sorry” singer suddenly unfollowed and reportedly blocked five people on Instagram who were once part of his inner circle — including, most notably, friend and former manager Scooter Braun, with whom he parted ways professionally last year.

“It’s been so hard for me to trust people,” the Grammy winner admitted early in his marriage. “I’ve struggled with the feeling that people are using me or aren’t really there for me.”

More recently, Justin’s “really been looking at his relationships with certain people and what kind of influence they’ve had on him,” notes the source. “He feels some prioritized his career over his personal happiness and weren’t supportive of his relationship with Hailey.” That’s caused problems, the source adds, because he’s promised his wife he’ll always choose her over anyone who disrespects their relationship.

Justin Bieber Is Making Peace With His Trauma

They’ve come a long way since eloping in 2018 after just a few months of dating. At first, “there was a lack of trust” in the relationship, Justin’s confessed, explaining that their “first year of marriage was really tough” because “there was a lot going back to the trauma stuff,” referring to his troubled past as a child star. “I did a bunch of stupid s–t,” he’s admitted, like abusing drugs, “being super promiscuous” and growing too “arrogant and cocky.”

Since then, “Justin has not been in the best headspace, but he’s continued to work through a lot and Hailey’s supported him,” says the source, noting the pop star has battled anxiety and depression as well as Lyme disease and Ramsay Hunt syndrome. “She’s been a rock, and really shown a lot of strength amid adversity.”

But she’s shown Justin that spending time apart can be good for their marriage, too. “In the past, he’s asked her to work less and stay home more, but it just wasn’t making her happy,” explains the source. “The biggest shift for them has been finding a balance. She still goes out, travels and explores work opportunities, even when that doesn’t align with what Justin wants. He’s realized things are better when he doesn’t try to hold her back.”

And Hailey’s realized she can’t stop others from speculating about her marriage. “People have made me feel so bad about my relationship since day one,” she shared in July, revealing she’s used to hearing, “‘Oh, they’re falling apart. They hate each other. They’re getting divorced.’” Ultimately, no matter what she and Justin say, Hailey notes she’s had to accept that “people don’t want to believe that we’re happy.”
