When Hannah Brown and her ex-boyfriend Tyler Cameron chatted it up at the 2019 E! People’s Choice Awards on Sunday, November 10, their convo couldn’t have been more casual. The 25-year-old revealed that she and her former flame simply spoke about work.

“He just asked about dancing,” she told Life & Style and other reporters during the Dancing With the Stars live taping on Monday, November 11. “I told him I’m focused on that. Yeah, no, that was [a] really quick little ‘hi.'”

The former Bachelorette confessed that the PCAs were a mini Bachelor Nation reunion for her. “I mean, it wasn’t just Tyler there. Colton [Underwood] and Cassie [Randolph] were there as well,” she continued.  “And then also, being in the Bachelor franchise is just like a family. So we all have kind of experienced the same things. So it was nice to be in a category with them and see everyone.”

In addition, there was some friendly competition between Hannah and Tyler, who were both up for the Reality Contestant Award, which the Alabama beauty took home. “Thank you so much,” she divulged during her acceptance speech. “This award means a lot to me because it affirms that it’s OK to be vulnerable and put your heart out there and that people receive and give that love back. To everyone who supported me on this crazy year, I was just a girl from Alabama. Thank you for allowing me to be that girl from Alabama and shine that light. Go Tide!”

It’s been a crazy year for Hannah, who is currently in DWTS‘ Top 5 with dance partner Alan Bersten. The brunette beauty traded in her rose from her Bachelorette days for some dancing shoes, and all the success has made her focus less on men. During the PCAs, she admitted her encounter with Tyler at the awards show wasn’t awkward because she now has other things to prioritize.

“I mean I came straight from practice for the show tomorrow so there are, there’s no place for nerves, and honestly, I’m just really focused on myself right now and just really glad that I am able to be here and to celebrate the nomination of the award,” she told Life & Style and other outlets at the time. You’re doing amazing, sweetie!
