How Many Husbands Did Country Music Star Wynonna Judd Have? Inside Her 3 Marriages

Country music royalty Wynonna Judd may rule the stage, but when it comes to love, her journey has hit a few sour notes — with more than one marriage ending in divorce.

How Many Husbands Did Wynonna Judd Have?

Wynonna has been married three times during her decades-long career.

Who Are Wynonna Judd’s Ex-Husbands?

Her first marriage was in 1996 when she married Arch Kelly III, with whom she shares two children: Grace Pauline and Elijah.

After separating in 1998 and finalizing their divorce in 2003, she married her second husband, D.R. Roach, on November 22 of that same year.

At the time, D.R. was her road manager and a part owner of a concert security company. Though she spoke warmly about marrying her best friend, the marriage was short-lived. In March 2007, just five days after D.R. was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery involving a minor, she filed for divorce, according to People.

In the legal documents, Wynonna’s legal team cited irreconcilable differences, noting they were “unable to live together successfully as husband and wife,” per People.

In Touch confirmed that D.R. pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual battery involving a minor and was sentenced in October 2008 to 90 days in jail, followed by nine years and nine months of probation. The case is now closed.

Who Is Wynonna Judd’s Current Husband?

Wynonna married her third husband, drummer Cactus Moster, after a six-month engagement in 2012. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at the “No One Else on Earth” singer’s home in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, on June 10, 2012. Cactus is a father of three children and they were all present for the nuptials. Wynonna’s mother and her sister, Ashley Judd, didn’t attend the ceremony.

The pair initially met in 1989, but their relationship didn’t turn romantic until years later when they reconnected in 2009.

“He’s the most tough and tender man I’ve ever been with that I trust,” the “Love Can Build a Bridge” artist told People in a cover story interview a few months after her mother Naomi Judd’s death in 2022. “We are so connected. It’s crazy how connected we are. I trust him with my life, which, I can’t always say that about men in my life.”

Cactus is most known as one of the founding members of Highway 101, which joined Wynonna and her mom Noami — the country music mother-daughter duo known as The Judds — on tour in 1989. Although the pair would say “Hello” to each other at events, it wasn’t until he moved to Tennessee that their relationship turned romantic.

“When I moved here, I kept my horses at her place while I built fences,” he told Music Row in 2015. “There was a long gap but in 2009, I’m playing at Puckett’s for these fun classic rock gigs and Wy comes walking in with Naomi. So we got together and went on a couple of dates.”

Nowadays, the pair can be spotted collaborating on music together on tour playing music. Cactus plays the drums for his wife’s band, Wynonna & The Big Noise.

“Getting to do the musical part together, instead of separate, is a bonus,” Cactus gushed about his musical wife to the Huffington Post in 2014. “When you love what you do, and love each other, it’s perfect.”
