Pop star Katy Perry has that big ring energy! The singer got engaged to Orlando Bloom on February 14 and her ring has made quite a splash among fans. It’s an extremely unique setting that’s shaped like a flower with a Barbie-pink stone. Life & Style exclusively learned all the details about this potentially pricey ring.
“The center gemstone in Katy’s gorgeously feminine ring appears to be a ruby or vivid pink diamond weighing an estimated 2 to 2.5 carats,” Kathryn Money, VP of Strategy and Merchandising at Brilliant Earth, dished.
That’s a serious size rock and the smaller accent diamonds are nothing to scoff at, either. “The vibrant gemstone is surrounded by a floral halo of eight round diamonds weighing an estimated 2 to 2.5 total diamond carat weight and is set in yellow gold.”
As for the price? It depends on the quality and specific characteristics of the stone. If the actor picked out a ruby for his lady love, that would set him back a cool “$25,000 to $50,000.” However, if he sprung for a pink diamond, which is a much rarer stone, “the ring would cost an estimated $500,000 to $2 million or more.” Uh, wow. Only the best for the songstress, right?
“While there’s a moment for every metal type, yellow gold is on the rise in 2019,” Kathryn explained. “With celebrities like Emily Ratajkowski, Meghan Markle and more opting for yellow gold engagement rings, we don’t see this trend slowing down.” She added, “This lustrous precious metal works beautifully in classic, vintage and modern settings.”
The “Roar” singer’s new piece of jewelry is very reminiscent of Lady Gaga‘s ring from Christian Carino. The difference is purely the size. Back in October, the gem expert estimated her bling was an “11 to 13-carat pink diamond … surrounded by a floral halo of 12 colorless round diamonds, set in white gold with a yellow gold band.”
