Fans Think Ariana Grande Came Out as Bisexual in ‘Monopoly’: ‘I Like Women and Men’
She’s unstoppable! It’s been less than two months since Ariana Grande released her fifth studio album, Thank U, Next, and she’s already releasing new music. On Monday, April 1, the pop star, 25, dropped “Monopoly,” with singer-songwriter and close friend Victoria Monét, and fans couldn’t help but pay attention to the lyrics, which could be suggesting Ari is bisexual.
The beginning of the chorus is the line causing speculation: “I like women and men (Yeah) / Work so f–kin’ much, need a twinny, twin, twin (Yeah.)” Victoria sings the chorus the first time around, followed by Ari, who sings the second chorus.
Many believe the song is personal to Victoria considering she came out as bisexual in November 2018. “I want everyone to know that I’m single (since people wanna pretend I’m not) and make imaginary rules for me,” Victoria, 25, wrote in a tweet at the time. “I secretly and respectfully went through a difficult break up this summer but enough is enough. I also like girls. Thank U, Next. Bye.”
When it comes to Ari, she hasn’t confirmed nor denied anything about her own sexuality. However, she did reply to a tweet telling fans labels aren’t important to her. “I haven’t before and still don’t feel the need to now, which is okay,” she wrote.

Aside from that, she also liked a tweet expressing how she feels about the speculation. “But for real, [SIC] PSA: Ariana can do whatever TF she wants and as long as she’s happy, that’s all that matters. Sexuality is fluid in this house,” read the first tweet she liked. She also liked another tweet that was pretty direct. “So you like WOMEN AND MEN? bitch me too,” it read.

This isn’t the first time Ari’s music sparks speculation about her sexual preference. In February, she dropped the “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” music video, which featured a plot twist when she seemingly kissed a girl at the end. “I really thought Ari was tryna bag someone’s man. Instead, she was out her scouting for a lady friend. Okay bisexual Queen,” wrote a fan when the video first premiered.
It looks like we’ll have to wait and see for Ari to drop more hints in upcoming music!
