Time flies when you’re in love! Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are still together and still going strong after two years together, and while they don’t have any plans to walk down the aisle anytime soon, they are looking to take their relationship to the next level! Sources reveal exclusively to Life & Style that the No Doubt rocker is trying to have a baby with her country star beau!
“Blake and Gwen are committed to having a baby together,” the insider says. “They just don’t want to get married.”
Gwen has been very open about wanting another child with her The Voice co-star. “I really love the baby stuff,” she confessed earlier this year. “I miss it.” And the timing couldn’t have been better, seeing as the blonde beauty is taking a hiatus from the reality singing competition.
However, Gwen, who shares three sons Kingston, 11, Zuma, 9, and Apollo, 3, with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, is struggling with her own fertility. At 48 years old, conceiving via IVF could be an issue for Gwen, and it’s something that the couple is not taking lightly. “Blake knows the toll [trying to get pregnant] has taken on her, emotionally and physically,” the source said. “If Gwen finally does get pregnant, she will be taking it easy and not traveling a lot.”
And it seems like Blake, 41, is ready to be a dad! To prove his love for Gwen and her three boys, the country crooner recently featured her sons in his latest music video for “I’ll Name the Dogs” — and it definitely hints at future wedding plans. “I’m talkin’ you and me with the same street name / Same last name, same everything,” he sang.
But even though Blake may seem to be ready for marriage, sources revealed to Life & Style that his painful divorce from Miranda Lambert is still haunting him, and it’s getting in the way of his relationship with Gwen “Blake had hoped that time would ease the pain of the divorce and the betrayal he felt, but sadly, it just hasn’t,” reveals an insider. “To this day, Blake believes Miranda cheated on him. It just wounded his soul.”
