Jason Kelce Has Noticed ‘Staggering’ Changes in Brother Travis Amid Taylor Swift Romance: ‘Growing Up’
Jason Kelce admits he has seen some “staggering” changes in his brother, Travis Kelce, since he started his romance with Taylor Swift.
The retired NFL star, 37, spoke to cohost and fellow former football player, Ryan Fitzpatrick, about Travis’ growth over the years during an appearance on the “Fitz & Whit” podcast on Tuesday, February 18, noting how his former bachelor pad included a basketball hoop and pool table in his living room.
“I don’t think he had any couches,” Ryan recalled. Jason said that his brother’s transformation has been incredible over the past three years and compared Travis, 35, to the fictional character Peter Pan.
“One of the things I love so much about Travis is that he never grew up,” Jason explained. However, he confirmed he felt his younger brother was “growing up now.”
“It’s changing,” he said. “I think sometimes you get people in your life that maybe get that out of you and that’s a good thing,” seemingly alluding to his 14-time Grammy winner girlfriend.
Although Travis was “growing up,” Jason said his brother still held on to his “youthful enthusiasm.” He continued, “I think he’ll always have that. It’s just part of his personality. … Anyone that’s ever met Trav, you can’t but just love the guy. He’s a free spirit in the best possible way.”
Travis and Taylor, 35, debuted their romance in September 2023, after the “You Belong With Me” songstress attended a Chiefs vs. Chicago Bears game in Kansas City. Since then, she’s cheered on her boyfriend at two Super Bowls, including their loss earlier this month against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

“Taylor is supporting Travis during this difficult time and it’s just trying to be there for him as much as possible,” a source told Us Weekly in an interview published on February 11. “The game obviously did not go as planned.”
Although Travis didn’t succeed in his latest Super Bowl attempt, he has been widely successful off the field, particularly in his relationship with Taylor. Prior to the game, an insider exclusively told Life & Style that their inner circle expects them to get engaged sooner rather than later.
“Everyone in Travis and Taylor’s world assumes an engagement is coming,” the source revealed in a story published on February 6. “In fact, a lot of people find it pretty extraordinary that it hasn’t happened already.”
The insider added that Travis has been “so open about Taylor being The One” and there’s no question that he “wants to spend the rest of his life with her and vice versa.”
When it comes to when he’ll finally pop the question, the source said that Travis “wants to knock it out of the park.”
With a possible engagement on the horizon, many fans are also curious about the future of Travis’ football career. While he hasn’t confirmed his plans for the upcoming season, the Ohio native previously praised Taylor for her support of his career.
“She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” he said about his girlfriend while appearing on the Stephen A. Smith Show on January 15. “She loves coming to Arrowhead [Stadium] and coming to the games and cheering for me so I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”
