Jennifer Hudson Has Zero Interest in Joking Around With Her Co-Stars on ‘The Voice’ (EXCLUSIVE)

The set of The Voice is starting to sound like a pretty chilly place to be! Life & Style learned exclusively that there’s been some drama between the judges, and an awkward joke that Miley Cyrus made about Jennifer Hudson’s long engagement to former pro wrestler David Otunga is quickly becoming a huge point of tension.

After Miley made a wisecrack, Jennifer firmly put the singer in her place. “Jennifer just isn’t someone who jokes around,” an insider explained. That may cause even more problems within the cast, because Miley, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton are all big jokers. As a matter of fact, it was the guys’ teasing Miley that prompted her to diss Jennifer in the first place.

This is going to be a long season if Jennifer doesn’t have a sense of humor, but maybe Miley just went too far. “Jennifer looked Miley right in the eye and told her to never mention her private life again, or even say David’s name,” said the source. It’s unclear why Jennifer is so sensitive about not being married yet, because she recently told Ellen DeGeneres, “I’m not in a hurry. He’s not going anywhere.” They’ve been together since 2008, and she has an 8-year-old child with him.

We don’t blame Jennifer for being a serious person, since she’s had so much tragedy in her life. Fans will remember that her mother, brother, and nephew were murdered by her sister’s estranged husband in 2008. That’s not something that’s easy to come back from. However, she was also picked out of obscurity on American Idol and is now a superstar, so hopefully she and her Voice co-stars will learn to get along!
