Kelsey Anderson Admits It Was ‘Hard’ When Spoiler Mistakenly Named Daisy Kent as Joey’s Fiancee

Before fans watched Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson get engaged during The Bachelor season 28 finale, they were convinced that he got down on one knee for runner-up Daisy Kent. Kelsey remained quiet about the false reports, but now she admits it was “hard” to see the incorrect spoiler circulating online.

“At the beginning, it was a little hard because I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. Is he sure he wants me? What if he has second thoughts?’” Kelsey, 26, said during the November 27 episode of “The Squeeze” podcast. “After a certain point of Joey reassuring me and telling me like, ‘I want this to work. It was going to be you. I was always going to be you,’ in a sense, I feel like Joey and I had built a lot.”

The Louisiana native later admitted that she is “glad” that her and Joey’s relationship was “hard at the beginning.”

“Now I’m like, ‘Whatever.’ In my mind, people that are over critiquing me and being hateful in that way, you need more hobbies,” Kelsey continued. “I don’t think that people that are really happy care about other people.”

Three months before Joey’s season of The Bachelor premiered in January, blogger Reality Steve falsely reported that Daisy, 26, and Joey, 29, got engaged at the end of filming.

“Joey and Daisy got engaged in Tulum, Mexico, at the end of the season. Obviously, the finale won’t air until mid-March so who knows what can happen in the next four months,” the November 29, 2023 report read. “But this is how the season ended. Have no proof that I can share, which I usually never do without outing any sources, so here it is.”

The Bachelor Nation blogger admitted his wrongs in February, writing, “No beating around the bush here. The spoiler is wrong. Joey is engaged to Kelsey A. and has been since filming ended.”

What actually happened, as fans witnessed, was Daisy self-eliminated during her final moment with Joey on the beach in Tulum. Shortly after their teary-eyed goodbye, Joey got down on one knee for Kelsey and she said, “Yes.”

Kelsey and Joey’s relationship wasn’t the only thing that came out of The Bachelor. Her friendship with Daisy was just as beautiful.

In March, Kesley detailed the final car ride she shared with Daisy on The Bachelor, a moment that will seemingly stick with her forever.

“We just were really embracing each other and just telling each other how amazing each other were,” Kelsey told Us Weekly at the time. “And she just really wanted Joey and I to be happy and she was like, ‘Don’t worry about me.’ She knows how I am and I was going to be thinking about her, just like how she would be in that situation as well. But she’s like, ‘Don’t think about me. I’m going to be OK. You embrace this moment.’ And I did.”

More recently, Kelsey and Daisy reunited while cheering on Joey while he competed on Dancing With the Stars season 33 in September. The former Bachelor and professional dancer Jenna Johnson took home the mirrorball trophy later that season.
