Kevin Costner’s Friends Are Setting Him Up on Dates for ‘Some Good Rebound Fun’
Kevin Costner bragged that he “knows how to meet the ladies” in a new interview, and he’s certainly not kidding as a source exclusively tells Life & Style that he’s been sowing his wild oats on the down low and restoring some much-needed self-esteem in the process!
“He’s not quite as desperately pathetic as people think, he’s learned his lesson getting too carried away like he did with Jewel,” the insider tells Life & Style. “He’s been on several dates with girls who are trusted and vetted by friends and having some good rebound fun.”
Following his divorce from ex-wife Christine Baumgartner, Kevin, 69, was romantically linked to Jewel, 50, in December 2023. Despite making several public outings together, both Kevin and Jewel have denied that their relationship was romantic. However, that hasn’t stopped speculation regarding their suspected romance.
The source adds that Kevin “took it badly when Jewel gave him the brush off and he’s been moping since the divorce,” though his friends have been “arranging dates for him and setting him up.”
“He’s got a social life again,” the insider concluded. “They were sick of seeing him gripe and now he’s definitely got his self-respect and sexy spark back.”
The Yellowstone actor opened up about his dating life during an October 17 interview with Entertainment Tonight, in which interviewer Rachel Smith said fans were “shipping” him and Hoda Kotb following his appearance on the Today show.
“Well look, I’m not on a national dating service. I appreciate the good will,” Kevin said. “She’s been great to me. When I go back there … people treat me well. They treat me good. And she’s got a spark and we’ve never had coffee together.”
After Rachel offered to play “matchmaker” by reaching out to Hoda, 60, to make a plan, Kevin quickly shut down the offer. “Look, you know, I know how to meet girls if I have to,” he responded.
Kevin reacted to the potential romance after Hoda weighed in on the chatter during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in July.
“How do you feel about viewers ‘shipping’ you and Kevin Costner after he appeared on Today last month? And have the two of you connected since?” one fan asked, and Hoda replied, “Wait what?”
After Andy, 56, explained that “viewers want” Kevin and Hoda to date, she admitted she wasn’t aware of the topic. “I have never heard that, not one time,” she said, to which her Today cohost Savannah Guthrie chimed in, “Well, you heard it now, you up to it?”
“Well, if the viewers want it,” Hoda happily responded as Savannah, 52, urged her to “give the people what they want.”
While it doesn’t seem like Hoda and Kevin have pursued a romantic relationship, an insider previously revealed what the Field of Dreams actor is looking for in a romantic partner.
“Kevin’s not opposed to dating an actress, but he wants a woman who wants to be loved — not one who’s on the fence about having a real relationship,” the source exclusively shared in July. “She must love kids, have a career of some kind, and she must be open to signing a prenup.”
