Kevin Costner Is Leaning On His Kids After Difficult Year: They’re ‘Keeping Him Strong’

Kevin Costner has had a year to forget after his painful divorce from ex-wife Christine Baumgartner and split from Jewel, as well as the costly break from Yellowstone and his Horizon debacle. However, an insider exclusively tells Life & Style that he’s got good kids who are riding with him through thick and thin and making sure he’s OK.

“His kids from both ex-wives get along great and they’re banding together to take care of him now, keeping his spirits up through the loneliness of the holidays and everything else he’s had to deal with,” the source tells Life & Style. “Kevin tried to be the best dad he could during their childhoods, he’d have them on the set with him just to stay close, and they’re giving back to him right now.”

The insider adds that Kevin’s children are “all well-adjusted kids,” which is “a credit to Kevin.”

“They’re what is keeping him going strong even as he faces more adversity,” the source adds.

Kevin is the proud father to adult children Annie, 40, Lily, 38, and Joe, 36, with his first ex-wife, Cindy Silva. Additionally, he shares Cayden Wyatt, 17, Hayes Logan, 15, and Grace Avery, 14, with Christine, 50.

Christine filed for divorce from Kevin in May 2023, and their divorce was finalized in February. He was briefly linked to Jewel, 50, following the end of his marriage, though both Kevin and the “Sammy the Spider” singer have denied being anything more than friends.

The Oscar winner announced his exit from Yellowstone in June, explaining that the filming schedule for season 5 conflicted with the one for his passion project Horizon. The decision ultimately caused a major rift between Kevin and the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan.

Despite his clear passion for the four-part movie series, Life & Style previously reported that Kevin took a financial hit due to losses from the Horizon project after the first movie hit theaters in June.

While Kevin’s career and financial standing might be on shaky ground, an additional insider exclusively told Life & Style on December 11 that he’s been adjusting to his life as a single man. In fact, he’s focused on bettering himself by improving his health and physical appearance.

The source explained that “he may have given in to the occasional Botox and fillers,” though he has also integrated a more grounded approach to his beauty regime. According to the insider, Kevin is determined to keep “himself fine-tuned through exercise, a healthy diet and an odd assortment of beauty rituals.”

When it comes to his exercise routine, Kevin stays active by swimming, surfing, going hiking and going horseback riding. Meanwhile, he also “indulges in the hot sauna” in an attempt to “reduce wrinkles and stiffness in the joints.”

The California native has also changed his eating habits and has embraced “a low-carb diet.” Additionally, he is “doing crunches and spending money on hairstyling sessions, facials and a snazzy new wardrobe.”

“He’s got that randy look in his eye and obviously he’s enjoying singlehood,” the insider shared. “But he’s looking forward to a fresh start and hopefully meeting Ms. Right in 2025, too.”
