Motherhood isn’t easy — and Kirsten Dunst isn’t one to sugarcoat it. The actress dished about how tough raising your kids can be at the TCA Summer Press Tour for Showtime’s On Becoming A God In Central Florida.

“God, you’re just tired all the time. Also, doing this show too, I was like, it’s so much easier to go back to work than it is to be a stay at home mom,” the 37-year-old revealed. “100%. I was like bye, to my mother-in-law. I was like, ‘Bye. Ahhh.'”

Considering this is the blonde beauty’s first child, we totally understand why she would be feeling the heat. She and her fiancé, actor Jesse Plemons, welcomed their son, Ennis Howard, in May 2018.

The couple met back on the set of season 2 of Fargo and started dating in 2016. By January 2017, they were engaged. Prior to dating Jesse, Kirsten dated her On the Road costar Garrett Hedlund from 2012 to 2016.

For the longtime actress, she only really wants to do work that will make her time away from her sweet little family worthwhile — and we totally don’t blame the new mama there.

“I feel like I’ve been in this industry for so long now, so for me, I have to have something that really inspires me to be taken away from my family and things like that,” she said at the event. “So this was a role I knew that I could just let it all out there. I really worked so hard that I didn’t care what anyone thought. I was just in my own world and I let loose.”

And clearly, the actress knows the best way to keep her relationship positive amid the struggles of the first child. “Oh, I think friendship,” she said of the key to a good relationship. “Yeah, I do. I think you have to be, yeah, have your best friend.”
