Kris Jenner Wants to Continue ‘The Kardashians’ Because She Has the ‘Most Direct Control’ Over It
Kris Jenner has masterminded her daughters’ success stories step by step, but she’s got way less cash in the bank than she feels she deserves at this point. A source exclusively tells Life & Style that it’s causing tension, particularly with the clan’s two highest earners Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.
“When you ask Kris directly about this, you get a pretty heartwarming answer about how she loves doing the reality show because producing and shooting the show means she gets to spend more time with her busy adult children than anybody she knows,” an insider with ties to the family’s streaming reality franchise tells Life & Style. “But make no mistake, the show has continued for all these years because it’s the part of the family’s business that Kris has the most direct control over.”
The source adds that The Kardashians has been “the cornerstone of her own personal fortune, apart from the hundreds of millions of dollars her daughters have generated with their various companies.”
“Kris has done well, but two of her kids are officially billionaires!” the insider continues. “For Kris to keep up with the wealth generated by her daughters, especially Kim and Kylie, the reality show means everything to her and it’s why she’s going to try to keep it going deep into her seventies.”
The source concludes that it’s not “a done deal just yet” that the show will continue for several seasons, “but it’s clearly Kris’ intention. People just hope she’s doing it for the right reasons!”
Kris, 69, has been starring on reality TV alongside her children ever since Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered in 2007. After the show came to an end in 2021, the family took a brief reality TV hiatus before they made their reality TV return when The Kardashians premiered on Hulu in 2022.
During season 5 of the Hulu show, fans watched Kris suffer a health scare when doctors discovered that she had a tumor.
At the time, an additional insider exclusively told Life & Style that Kris’ prognosis was OK and she was going to be “fine.” However, the source shared that several of her family members were worried about the momager’s wellbeing.
“You can never say never with these horrible situations, so she’s not out of the woods just yet, and it’s got everybody imploring her to slow down,” the insider explained in May. “The woman never takes day off, even when she’s on vacation she takes meetings and answers every email. If she goes somewhere and they don’t have WiFi it’s a disaster because she’s always got to work, she makes that her priority.”

Additionally, a third source exclusively told Life & Style that Kris has been “freaking out about her bank balance shrinking and had to make cuts somewhere.” According to the insider, she even slashed boyfriend Corey Gamble’s allowance as a way to save money.
“He was taking several hundred grand a month in salary and getting carte blanche on credit cards, totaling a million or more. Now, it’s come down to $10k a month, and he must ask permission to use Kris’ premium credit cards and no more cash advances and pay for his own transportation,” the source claimed about Kris’ longtime boyfriend. “It’s pretty insulting for a guy who was used to getting everything he wanted, from driving Kris’ luxury cars to buying gold chains on a whim, but things are different now.”
