Kristen Bell Shares Rare Photo of Kids While Celebrating Husband Dax Shepard’s 50th Birthday

Kristen Bell included daughters Lincoln and Delta in a sweet birthday tribute to husband Dax Shepard.

The Frozen star, 44, took to Instagram on Thursday, January 2, to share a rare snap of her kids as part of a photo dump for Dax, who had just turned 50 years old. The pic showed the Zathura actor sitting shirtless in bed while Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9, posed on either side of him, wearing matching black and white striped T-shirts and berets.

Dax leaned over and kissed Delta as Lincoln looked at the camera. However, both girls’ faces were covered with emojis, as Kristen and Dax have chosen not to show them on social media.

Another slide was a close-up of Dax snuggling up to one of his daughters and kissing her on the cheek. Meanwhile, the rest of the carousel contained photos of the “Armchair Expert” podcast host and his wife sharing kisses and loving glances.

“Happy birthday to the most affectionate 220 lbs man that ever existed. I cannot imagine life without you,” Kristen captioned the post. “(The first pic is the first I ever posted on Instagram. The second is from our wedding day.)”

Dax commented back, “How dare you make me cry on my big day of turning super old.”

Kristen, who married the comedian in October 2013, opened up about her and Dax’s decision to hide their kids’ faces on social media in 2020.

“My feeling is that I chose a career in the public eye. I chose to be quoted, I chose to have my picture taken,” she told Romper. “I don’t know them yet. I don’t know if they will want that. So I really don’t have the right to choose for them.”

The beloved couple is also strict about Lincoln and Delta’s screen time.

“We don’t have a phone problem ’cause they’re not in the mix. And iPods aren’t, iPads aren’t in the mix and video games,” Dax told Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher on “The Endless Honeymoon” podcast in October 2022. “So there’s three things in my house that are not happening — those things. And they complain about it all the time. ‘So-and-so’s got it.’ And I go, ‘Yeah, but you gotta swimming pool and you got a dirt bike.'”

Dax added that he and Kristen felt it was important for their kids to know that the “world is enormous,” and they didn’t want to “reduce it to a seven-inch screen.”

“I don’t want your focus to be on a seven-inch thing when the world is all around you,” he continued, addressing his kids. “But look, you get to play with it at your friend’s house. I’m not saying you can’t play video games when you go out and about in the world. You do whatever you want to do, but doesn’t happen here.”

He noted, “We have a bunch of other s–t that your friends are jealous of, So it’s like ‘no one gets everything’ and that.”

Though Dax said he’s “not committing” to an age when he and Kristen will lift the restriction, he admitted that it might happen when the girls start making their own income.

“You go out and make your own money. You buy whatever the f–k you want,” he concluded. “I’m not in charge of the money you make, to incentivize that pride of having made your own money. That’s up to you.”
