It's been two years since the death of Kristin Cavallari's older brother Michael — and the former Hills star is still dealing with the loss of her sibling. In a touching tribute to Mikey, Kristin reveals she has received signs from her brother since his untimely death.
"This past week has been hard — it’s the 2nd anniversary of losing my brother and even though the date we go with is the 27th, for me it will always be the Saturday after Thanksgiving (we will never truly know the exact date even though we have a pretty good idea)," the 30-year-old wrote on Instagram. "We lost him completely unexpectedly and it’s been a rough road for me and my family." Watch the video below to see the touching tribute.
In 2015, Michael was found dead in Utah at the age of 30. His death was ruled accidental and the cause was determined to be hypothermia. "Michael Cavallari's body was found three miles from where his car was wrecked in the high desert of Grand County, Utah. There were no signs of major trauma and no suicide note," officials said. "Cops did not find any evidence of drugs or alcohol either."
Kristin, who has three kids with husband Jay Cutler, opened up about his death on social media with an emotional letter to fans. "My heart is in a million pieces. Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and you will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace," she wrote before adding, "I love u so much RIP."
She also released a statement at the time. "We want to thank everyone for their love, support, and prayers during this very difficult time," it read. "We have just been informed by the authorities my brother's body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving."
