Love Is Blind’s Ashley Says Tyler Francis Donating Sperm to ‘Friends and Family’ Is ‘Complicated’
Love Is Blind star Ashley Adionser clapped back at a critic regarding the situation involving her husband, Tyler Francis, who claimed he only fathered three children because he donated sperm to “a couple he knows.”
“I hope you never need egg donation,” the person wrote in the comments section of a photo Ashley, 32, shared on Instagram. “It’s not cool to make someone feel bad about it—it’s just genetic material, it’s not paternity.”
Ashley didn’t hold back in her reply.
“Did you hear the part where I say, ‘I’m not mad at him trying to help a couple start a family…in fact I find it to be admirable!’” the marketing director began. “I would NEVER EVER demean anything about a woman’s fertility.”
Ashley continued her response in separate comments and added, “I was upset that he didn’t share it with me sooner. I’d love to open this dialogue further. But for now I’ll say it’s more complicated when you donate to friends and family.”
Fans saw Ashley and Tyler, 35, officially tie the knot in the Love Is Blind season 7 finale, making them one of only two couples who got married. However, many have been concerned for Ashley after the mother of Tyler’s children, Bri Thomas, claimed that he was never just a sperm donor.
“Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a shy person. I am a private person. I do not like all of my business out in the world for everyone to see and know, but that is just the situation that we’re in right now, out of my control,” Bri began in a multi-part video series shared to Instagram on October 19. “There was a time in which Tyler was one of my best friends. Even now, he’s still the father of my three beautiful children.”

While Tyler claimed that he fathered all three children via sperm donation, Bri said that wasn’t the case. She explained that the 5-year-old twins she and Tyler share were the result of “natural unplanned intercourse with absolutely no complexity surrounding parentage.”
Bri continued, “I fully admit I have not always been the most comfortable with that truth due to the fact that I’ve lived the majority of my life as a lesbian. Nonetheless, it is exactly that, the truth.”
Tyler and Bri also share a 7-year-old son, Kyreaux, and Bri admitted that the initial plan was for the reality star to “help” her and her ex-wife have a child.
“It was understood that Tyler was not supposed to assume a father role in Ky’s life,” Bri said.
Less than a year after Kyreaux was born, however, Bri was pregnant with the twins.
“Tyler was there with me the entire way, extremely supportive. We went to doctor’s appointments together. We even were living together,” Bri continued. “I truly hate that I had to provide an explanation in hopes of defending myself and my children. I just could not continue to sit back and allow what was being said about me and the kids to continue on and just be lied on and just sit here. With that, Tyler hasn’t spoken to or seen the kids since September 30, 2023. That was the day before he left for this show. And that’s why I’m so beyond hurt and angry with him about all of this.”
