Malika Haqq Gives Her Newborn Son a Super Unique Name — Meet Ace Flores
So unique! Malika Haqq took to Instagram to announce the birth of her newborn son, and his name is definitely one-of-a-kind. On Monday, March 16, two days after his birth on Saturday, March, 14, she introduced fans to her little boy. Sharing a photo of his tiny hand in his parents’ hands, she revealed his name is Ace Flores.
Though the mom didn’t explain where the moniker came from, NameBerry.com says “Ace” means “one, unity.” Flores, the little boy’s last name, comes from dad O.T. Genasis’ real name: Odis Oliver Flores.
The mom of one documented her entire pregnancy on social media. She first revealed she was expecting her first child in September 2019 when she posed holding a pregnancy test.
“I listen to my heart, and I’ve decided that the rest of my life will be the best of my life. I’m pregnant!” the brunette beauty captioned the post at the time. “I didn’t know when, I just knew one day. God said it’s my turn, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the little spirit that grows inside of me. I am yours, baby, and you are mine.”
A few weeks after, it came to light that her ex O.T. Genasis is the father of the baby. The two seemingly split in June 2019, but back when they were together, they seemed crazy about each other. The “CoCo” lyricist’s Instagram post from October 2018 proves it.
“Before you, I was lost and confused and didn’t know how to let my guard down,” he wrote at the time. “You know I always play you love songs but now I know what the songs actually mean. I came in thinking I had it figured all out but you gave me the structure I needed to stay balanced. As men, we often have PRIDE that makes us not wanna do certain things.”
Before concluding the caption, he gushed about how important Malika is to him. “I would do anything in this world for you,” O.T. wrote. “YOU and only YOU made me a better man and want to be a better man … You’re not only my partner but my best friend.”
While the two didn’t work out as a couple, they seem to have maintained a good friendship afterward. He stuck by her side throughout the pregnancy and even attended the baby shower Khloé Kardashian threw her in February. Congrats to them!
