Malika Haqq Cries That She Doesn’t Want to Be ‘Doing It Alone’ With Baby Ace Amid O.T. Genasis Split
It looks like Malika Haqq‘s pregnancy was more emotional than fans thought. The brunette beauty cried to bestie Khloé Kardashian about how hard it was being single while expecting her first baby, son Ace Flores. “I don’t want to be nine months pregnant doing it alone,” she said amid her split from O.T. Genasis (real name: Odis Oliver Flores) in the Keeping Up With the Kardashians season supertease.
“Why carry this negativity” Khloé can be heard saying in response. “Let’s just let go.”
Malika was single for much, if not all, of her pregnancy. She confirmed her split from the rapper after two years together in June 2019, and three months later revealed she was expecting her first child. While she kept the paternity quiet for a while, it was soon revealed that her ex was the father.
It seemed like things were going pretty well between the pair regardless. They were spotted out together a few times amid her pregnancy, and in October 2019 learned where their relationship as coparents stood. “Malika didn’t want to make O.T. part of her pregnancy journey unless he wanted to be involved,” an insider revealed. “They are talking and feeling it out. He’s been getting more involved as her pregnancy has progressed.”
Unfortunately it sounds like things only got more complicated throughout her pregnancy and once Ace was born on March 14, 2020. While O.T. loves his son and has posted many sweet photos with his mini-me, Malika has opened up subtly about the struggles of raising a child with an ex.
“Coparenting is a different beast,” Khloé once tweeted during Keeping Up With the Kardashians, to which Malika responded, “ain’t it?”
Still, Malika loves being a mommy, and it doesn’t sound like any difficulties so far have deterred her from wanting more kids in the future. “He’s giving me baby fever,” a fan wrote on one of her sweet photos of Ace in May 2020. “He makes me want another one. LOL,” Malika responded. Only time will tell if that’s with O.T. or a new love. So far, it sounds like Malika is happily single and enjoying her new role as mom to sweet little Ace.
