Maria Georgas Seemingly Responds to Peter Weber Rumors: ‘Will I Ever Be Able to Be Single in Peace?’
Maria Georgas posted a cryptic message to her Instagram Story that appeared to be her reaction to the rumors that she’s dating Peter Weber. After the Bachelor Nation alums caused a frenzy because they were spotted together in New York City, Maria seemingly addressed the chatter on Monday, November 4.
The Bachelor season 28 star reposted a Sex and the City meme that said, “Describe your current life or relationship status … as if Carrie [Bradshaw] was writing it.” She followed the prompt by adding, “I couldn’t help but wonder… will I ever be able to be single in peace?!”
This was Maria’s first time confirming her “single” relationship status since the rumors about her and Peter, 33, went viral. The reality stars were seen sitting next to each other and chatting in the booth of a New York City restaurant and a fan caught the interaction on video. It was uploaded to TikTok on Sunday, November 3.
Maria, 30, and Peter were joined by other friends in the large booth, but they were only talking to each other in the TikTok footage.
The sighting came just two months after Maria was dragged into the drama on season 21 of The Bachelorette with Jenn Tran. Jenn, 26, and fiancé Devin Strader broke up before the show’s finale aired on September 3 and she called him out for following Maria and other women on Instagram just one day after they split.
Jenn later clarified that she didn’t think Maria had done anything wrong and knew that her former Bachelor costar had never met Devin, 28. However, she said that she wanted to hold Devin accountable for his actions. “It was important to highlight the ways Devin disrespected me,” Jenn explained. “It has nothing to do with Maria. I know that nothing happened.”
Maria also publicly declared that she never followed Devin back on social media and said she wanted nothing to do with him. “The last thing I want to do is have this weird narrative where Jenn and I are against each other,” she said. “Just because we’ve separated our ways and are no longer friends, doesn’t mean we hate each other. And doesn’t mean that if someone’s gonna disrespect her in my face that I’m gonna sit here and stand for it. Because I’m not.”
Devin addressed the situation himself, revealing that he followed “a bunch” of Bachelor Nation stars, but added, “It was an ill-advised decision on my part. I shouldn’t be following people that I have no relationship with whatsoever. I don’t know Maria. I’ve never met Maria. I’ve never met up with Maria. And I will never follow Maria [again]. I know I hurt Jenn now. I’m just here to apologize for that, so I am sorry.”
Meanwhile, Peter had his own share of drama as the Bachelor in 2020. He got engaged to Hannah Ann Sluss on the show, but they also ended things before the proposal aired. Although he revealed his intentions to pursue things with runner-up Madison Prewett, their reconciliation did not last. He went on to date Kelley Flanagan – another contestant from his season – on-and-off for three years. They split for good in 2023.
Pete has yet to comment on the Maria rumors.
