‘Meddling’ Gwyneth Paltrow Trying to Set Up Daughter Apple Martin With Costar Timothee Chalamet
Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter, Apple Martin, has admitted she has a heavy crush on her mom’s new costar Timothée Chalamet – and a source exclusively tells Life & Style the Goop founder is hoping to make that dream a reality by hooking them up on a date.
“She’s not trying to match make them, per se, but she prides herself on making her kids dreams come true, and thinks it’ll be great for everyone to hang out,” the source says.
The Iron Man actress, 52, is starring alongside her daughter’s recent infatuation Timothée, 38, in the upcoming movie Marty Supreme.
Before deciding to take on the role in the Josh Safde flick, Gwyneth had been on a five-year hiatus from the movie industry as she worked on bringing her brand to new heights and raising her family.
“I’ve never said that I am quitting acting,” she told Today host Savannah Guthrie in March 2019.
“What I say is Goop is my full-time passion, and being the founder and CEO of Goop is what I do all day every day, and occasionally when something is the right thing and it works out around my children and my Goop life, I’m able to participate,” the Seven star said.
Gwyneth last graced the big screen reprising her role as Pepper Potts in Avengers: End Game, which released in 2019, but has appeared in a few shorts and some Netflix projects since.
However, a different source told DailyMail on September 3, “As soon as Gwyneth told Apple that Timothée is not only a producer, but also the lead actor, she pleaded with her mom to accept. After reading it and loving it, despite having no major wish to act right now, she was convinced by Apple, who intends to be on set as much as possible.”
“She actually shares her daughter’s opinion that Timothée is a super talented guy with heaps of charisma,” the first source continues. “She loves that he has a New York background and comes from great stock.”
“She’s got big ambitions for her daughter and figures the more connections Apple can make, the better. Plus, as you can imagine, she’s quite the helicopter parent, so of course it thrills her to no end that Apple’s comfortable enough to reveal who she’s got a crush on and she’s pretty proud that she actually has the power to make this introduction happen.”
“Even though her kids are older she still loves to be as much a part of their social life as possible, and it doesn’t seem to occur to her that this is all a little bit insensitive given that Timothée has a girlfriend.”
The Call Me By Your Name actor and apparent celebrity-kid heartthrob has been dating Kardashians star Kylie Jenner since April 2023, and by most accounts, things are going well between the A-list couple, with Life & Style previously reporting that Kylie is pushing for a baby with her beau.
But, as the source says, “That’s Gwyneth for you.”
“She’s always meddling without much thought to the consequences.”
