Meghan Markle’s Future Sister-In-Law Arrested After Assaulting Meg’s Brother

The future wife of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, may be the picture of elegance and grace, but her family is kind of a mess. On top of her half-sister Samantha Grant constantly running her mouth about her, and her 51-year-old brother Thomas Markle Jr.’s past indiscretions, her soon-to-be sister-in-law just got arrested on New Year’s Eve!

Darlene Blount — Thomas’ 46-year-old fianceé — was brought in by Oregon police on Dec. 31 for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend after an alcohol-fueled fight, according to TMZ. What a way to kick off the new year, huh?! Check out her mugshot:

The mugshot shows Darlene looking bleary-eyed and exhausted after the arrest, with greasy hair and a scowl on her face. There’s no word about whether or not her wedding to Thomas is still on, but it isn’t the first drama that the couple would have endured. One year ago in January 2017, Tom actually held a gun to Darlene’s head in another fight. She pressed charges, but dropped them one month later and they reconciled. Honestly, maybe this couple is better off apart!

While Meghan would likely be ashamed of her family’s antics, her brother has nothing but kind words for her. “I do have a sense of pride in Meghan being successful,” he told Daily Mail. “It was just obvious from day one that she was destined to be somewhere really big. She’s always been a princess. She’s carried herself on that level from day one.” Well, she certainly hasn’t carried herself in a way that has ever gotten her arrested! We’re willing to bet the bad press prevents Meg from initing her brother and his wife-to-be to the royal wedding in May.
