Millie Bobby Brown Delivers Epic Clap Back After Being Told She Looks Like a ‘Jersey Housewife’
Millie Bobby Brown clapped back at haters who compared her recent selfie to a “Jersey Housewife” via Instagram.
The Stranger Things actress, 20, shared a handful of mirror photos on Monday, December 30, as she donned a floral dress with a mini multicolored Louis Vuitton handbag. Millie wore light makeup and her natural wavy hair fell past her shoulders in a side part.
“She looks like a 40 year old Jersey housewife,” a fan wrote in the comments section of the post.
Although Millie didn’t directly respond to the Instagram critic, she posted a general message via Instagram Stories shortly after.
“Women grow!! Not sorry about it :),” the Enola Holmes star wrote at the time.

While some shamed Millie for her appearance, others defended the Marbella, Spain, native from trolls.
“Omg guys can yall just let a girl breathe,” a second person wrote, while a third commented, “Y’all. She’s not a kid anymore. You’re still expecting her to look like baby Eleven. She’s not.”
In the second slide of the carousel photo, Millie zoomed into her hand, exposing her massive wedding ring from husband Jake Bongiovi, whom she secretly wed in May. The Mrs. confirmed their nuptials the following month.
Though Millie is no “Jersey Housewife,” she’s a proud wife to the son of music legend Jon Bon Jovi and dedicated her first Instagram post of 2025 to their union. “The year of mrs bongiovi,” the starlet captioned the Wednesday, January 1, Instagram post.
In the video, clips flashed from the months leading up to the wedding that took place in Tuscany, Italy, all the way up to Millie and Jake’s first months into marriage as newlyweds.
A fourth fan reacted to Millie’s previous message about women growing and shared a sweet sentiment in the comments section of the post.

“Woman [sic] do grow and you don’t need to apologize to anyone for it! You’re amazing so proud of you! You don’t owe anybody an apology. It’s normal to grow up,” fan No. 4 commented.
Shortly after Millie confirmed she and Jake, 22, tied the knot, a source exclusively told Life & Style that she entered the marriage with her “eyes wide open” and set a “goal” to be a “great wife.”
“MBB went into this marriage with her eyes wide open and also, importantly, because she needed a change,” the insider shared at the time. “She has spent the last seven years working nonstop, making movies during breaks from her TV show [Stranger Things] and making a small fortune via her endorsements on social media and with various paid promotional work.”
The source later explained that Millie “has said publicly she wants to end Stranger Things with her head held high and only then will she make more big decisions about her future.”
Not only did Millie have the support from her husband and family to temporarily slow her role in her acting career, but her famous in-laws rallied behind her decision, too.
“[Jake’s family is] incredibly supportive of MBB slowing down, settling down and figuring things out for herself, and she’s now officially a member of one of the most business savvy and entrepreneurial families in the entire entertainment business,” the insider noted at the time.
Netflix announced Stranger Things wrapped production for the fifth and final season on December 10, 2024.
