Morgan Wallen Speaks Out on Abrupt ‘SNL’ Exit Almost 2 Months Later: Ready ‘To Go Home’
Morgan Wallen may be the problem, but the country bad boy insisted there was no issue that led to his abrupt Saturday Night Live walk off on March 29.
The “Spin You Around” artist, 31, appeared on the Caleb Pressley‘s Sundae Conversations web series, and had no problem addressing his hot topics. In the episode, Caleb, 32, gave Morgan a hard time about no longer having to maintain routine household duties due to his rising fame.
“Could you fix a TV, if it was on SNL?” Caleb asked Morgan, addressing his viral exit from the stage.
“I could change it for sure,” the “Cowgirls” musician replied.
“Seriously, SNL, did they make you mad?” Caleb asked, leading Morgan to explain, “No, no. I was just ready to go home. I’d been there all week.”
Morgan’s oncamera run for the door wasn’t the only thing that ignited speculation that he didn’t enjoy his musical guest duties on SNL after performing “I’m the Problem” and “Just in Case” from his upcoming fourth studio album, I’m the Problem. After his exit, the Tennessee native shared a photo via his Instagram Stories of his private jet on the runway with the text, “Get me to God’s country.”
During his oncamera goodbye’s, Morgan hugged host Mikey Madison and the pair exchanged words before he jogged behind the cameras and out of the studio.
On April 2, lip reader Nicola Hickling, on behalf of Slingo, told Life & Style what she believed was said as Morgan parted ways from the group.

“Thank you all so much. I had a wonderful time. Thank you all, mwah mwah mwah,” Nicole claimed Morgan told Mickey, who seemingly replied, “Chatting to you was really good.”
Meanwhile, a source exclusively told Life & Style that Morgan’s decision not to mingle with the SNL cast didn’t mean he had an issue with them.
“Morgan is not a people pleaser. I doubt he meant to make a statement by walking off the stage, but he just does what he wants,” the insider explained at the time. “And he wanted to leave. Honestly, if he stayed and partied with everyone at the afterparties, it probably would have done a lot worse!”
The same say, Morgan appeared on Theo Vaughn’s “This Past Weekend” podcast and although he didn’t address the SNL debacle, the celebrity did share the “stress” that comes with fame.
“There’s parts of that that I don’t like. I think anybody who has to deal with that … it’s not ideal,” the “Sand In My Boots” artist admitted. “It’s not ideal to go everywhere, and even if you don’t get bothered, you were on edge the whole time because you thought you might be. There’s things that you just don’t do. There’s just things you don’t do anymore.”
Morgan shared that he took up hunting as his new hobby because it doesn’t require having to be by anyone besides his close pals and mother nature.
One week later, a second insider exclusively told Life & Style that Morgan has “been privately struggling with life as a superstar.”
“He misses doing ‘regular’ things and no longer trusts many people,” the second source dished in a story published on April 8. “It’s been really hard on him.”
