Naya Rivera Gets Body-Shamed After Sharing Revealing Selfie: ‘Why So Skinny?’
People of the internet, take note: It’s never OK to comment on someone’s weight! Enter: Naya Rivera’s latest selfie on Instagram. The former Glee actress, 32, took to the social media platform to share a seriously stunning photo of herself posing in the bathroom mirror.
“Quick change,” she captioned the post on Wednesday, November 6. In the shot, Naya is wearing a white, strapless bikini top, nude underwear and well, nothing else. Clearly, the brunette babe was feeling herself and rightly so! Naya looks fantastic.
Unfortunately, a handful of her followers (read: trolls) used Naya’s selfie as an opportunity to body-shame her. “Mama, eat a steak,” one user commented. “Why so skinny?” added another. “Holy s–t. Someone needs to check on her,” a third person wrote, while a fourth echoed,” Baby, stop losing weight.”
Newsflash, using an endearing term like “baby,” doesn’t make things better. Nice try, though. Thankfully, Naya’s loyal fans stepped in to show her some well-deserved love. “OMFG. I wasn’t ready for this,” one gushed. “‘Stunning!” added a second. “Honestly, I can’t get over how hot you are. It’s crazy,” a third person chimed in, while a fourth wrote, “You’re a goddess.” And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you respond to a selfie.
Sadly, Naya is hardly the first celebrity to face this kind of backlash on Instagram. On October 10, Kylie Jenner came under fire after posting a throwback photo with her daughter, Stormi Webster. In the picture, the KUWTK star, 22, was wearing a yellow bikini. “Body proportions look absurd but let’s just continue not talking about it,” one hater commented. “That body’s not even normal, and not in a good way,” added another.
“Why her body look like that? Doesn’t look real,” someone else wrote, while a separate response read, “No real human should be shaped that way.” In conclusion, if you don’t have anything nice to say, get the eff off social media.
