Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev Announce Their Engagement and We’re Shook
Can you believe it?! Nikki Bella revealed that she and her boyfriend, Artem Chigvintsev, are engaged after less than one year of dating. The 36-year-old took to her Instagram feed to share the news on January 3, though the question was actually popped back in November. Can you say, OMG?
“Excited for 2020 and the next decade with you @theartemc,” she captioned a series of two photos of the couple from the day she became a fiancée — including one of her showing off her diamond. “I said yes in France in November! We have been trying to keep it a secret but really wanted to share our excitement for the New Year!”
The Dancing With the Stars pro also posted to his own Instagram feed about the exciting announcement. “You are the best thing that has ever happened to me,” the 37-year-old gushed in his caption. “So excited for what’s to come I love you more than anything and thank you for saying Yes.” Even more exciting? We’ll get to see exactly how the romantic moment went down next season on Total Bellas, premiering this spring!
We’re not surprised to see these two lovebirds finally make things official official. In fact, an insider told Life & Style exclusively that the couple was gearing up for an engagement back in late November.
“Nikki would love to be engaged. Of course, Artem knows this, and he loves her, so I think it’s only a matter of time,” the source revealed. “They’re taking steps. Nikki jokes that they’re little baby steps towards a future together. If Artem proposes, she’s saying definitely saying yes.”
The couple first started sparking romance rumors in January, about six months after the former WWE pro finally split from her on-again, off-again fiancé, John Cena. In March, the brunette beauty was spotted leaving the dancer’s house in the wee hours of the morning, setting off more speculation before being seen at a PDA-filled lunch.
Finally, days later, Nikki addressed the relationship on her podcast with sister Brie Bella, The Bellas Podcast. “Yes, we are dating. Yes, I spend the night at his house,” she said at the time. “Yes, we have date lunches at Joan’s on Third and we like to get food for his house — or should I say, produce from the farmer’s markets. So, let’s consider this rumor killed.”
Clearly, things have only gotten better and better from that moment on. Congrats to the happy couple!
